You've only got 5 months invested into this relationship. And don't you have kids? Why would you want to get even further into this and subject your kids to a drunk? Why don't you just concentrate on raising your kids for now and not worry about dating until you feel you are ready for man worthy enough for you and your kids? Because this drunk isn't.

@@fabnsab That's how I've eaten from day one. I eat full fat cheese, butter, dressings, etc. I believe in real food in smaller quantities and no processed, low fat, low sugar crap! I find it keeps me satiated longer, too.

I would think within the next month you should be able to have sauteed veggies if they are soft enough, but that's a good question for your surgeon or NUT if you have one. What about chili or Soups? Have you tried those? Also, I love The World According to Eggface's blog. She has a lot of great recipes for each stage! Here's a link to some of her soft food recipes: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html

My Big Fat Fabulous Life - Do you watch it?
Babbs replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've caught a few minutes here and there, and I'm like you...mixed feelings. Although I feel it's wonderful to accept yourself for who you are, at some point the scales tip (figuratively speaking) to morbid obesity just being unhealthy and really nothing to Celebrate or accept if you want to live a longer, healthier life. The "healthy fat" phenomenon we are seeing right now is a myth. There is no such thing. Your internal organs and joints are being literally crushed under the pressure of the extra weight. There is nothing healthy about that. She's a doll, though, and I hope she finds a way to tackle her weight issue once and for all. -
I never had an issue with eggs, but I've heard it's very common early out. You may want to wait a while when you're further out and try again.
-
Shrimp was one of my "go to" foods early out. It was soft and easy to chew, and sat really well for me. I also would by crab cakes and eat them. So good!

LOL....I'm dying here!

Eating meals with other people
Babbs replied to byebyedarkpassenger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember stressing about this early out, as I'm a Realtor and have a lot of lunches and dinners with clients. Come to find out, nobody cared or even payed attention to how much (or how little in our case) I was eating. We get so self absorbed in this whole WLS thing, we tend to forget the world doesn't really revolve around us. But it should, damn it! -
I'll just point to the area....LOL

What body type do you have after your weight loss?
Babbs replied to Healthy_life2's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Inverted triangle for sure. I've always had wide shoulders and big boobs, lol. -
I think we are getting a little confused about which part of the female anatomy she's discussing. My comment was strictly about the fatty area called the mons. I was not aware that the labias minora and majora carried weight?? I'll have to ask if my husband if he noticed they've shrunk??

Babbs replied to Barry W's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

My wedding rings during surgery
Babbs replied to forrealthistime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has ALWAYS worked for me. Couldn't get my class ring off when I had an allergic reaction and my hand swelled up. Try this out. It's didn't work for me I ended up having to get them cut off before surgery. But I needed to have them resized anyway 6 months after. Now they need resized again! My poor rings! -
Yup. I've been having them off and on since surgery for the past year. ESPECIALLY when I stand up. I've noticed it is worse when I'm slacking on my fluid intake, so I try to stay as hydrated as possible. I keep forgetting to ask my doctor about it when every time I see her!

Sad story today in local paper about 800lb man

Breaks my heart How hopeless he must feel... -
@@her1981 Oh my gosh, I hear ya! I was a super SLOOOOW loser! It took me over a year to lose 85 pounds! Honestly, people lose faster without having surgery! But they are absolutely correct in saying try not to compare and just keep doing all the right things, and it will come off. You're doing just great! Even 6 months from now you'll be amazed how far you've come!
-
I hate to break it to ya, but your friend will never keep her weight off eating like that. YOU, my dear, are doing things right! Keep up the good work!

When you are too big to manage your period...
Babbs replied to Katsitsyahawe's topic in The Gals' Room
Can I just say I'm so happy I've had all that shit taken out and don't have to worry about that anymore?? -
I'm assuming they don't know you've had surgery? Yeah, I would think if they didn't know and found out they might be pissed. I lost so frigging slowly, I probably STILL would have lost the contest! LOL

I'm in Seattle...I need my coffee...
Babbs replied to Seahawkgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've seen programs vary. Me? I've been drinking caffinated coffee since a month post surgery. Two cups a day. And sometimes an iced sugar free almond milk Carmelizer from Dutch Bros for a treat Oh, I'm 13 months out and below goal. I've been strict to my program except the caffine. It just was something I wasn't willing to give up. Right or wrong -
Flabby Vagi would be a good band name..... Just kidding, lol. Yes, my pubic area has lost weight. I can really tell during sexy time when my public bone "bumps" hubbys. Ouch!

Eating too much, still hungry, stalled
Babbs replied to maloney731's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you taking a PPI for your acid? And what are you eating? Are you making sure you're always eating protein first and then veggies if you have room? Are you staying away from bread, crackers, sugar and the like? Those cause cravings. If you keep your little sleeve full of good, dense protien, it should keep you fuller longer. Are you making sure you're getting all your fluids in, also? Between protien and fluids, you really shouldn't be too hungry at this point if you're keeping your sleeve filled with both.... -
It's a great question! And also a very common misconception with WLS. The ol' "I can eat whatever I want and still lose weight!" concept. And you can....at first. As someone so eloquently put it, "You can eat blended Twinkies and still lose weight". During the honeymoon phase, restriction is good and hunger is low. But long term, the anything goes mentality just won't work because your body adjusts to the low calories and will put the brakes on the weight loss, and even cause re gain. You have very little room in your tummy. Make nutritious choices that will maximize weight loss and keep your all important muscle that will be lost. And think long term. Will my eating habits and lifestyle help me keep the weight off once I lose it? Or will this all be for nothing?
-
Speaking of boots, I just bought these bad boys yesterday! Love me some boots!
-
Something you need to remember. At some point, the "honeymoon" period where hunger is less and restriction is great ends eventually. Yes, your hunger will return and restriction wanes over time. No, your stomach will never be the size it was pre surgery, but at some point you will be able to eat a normal, albeit smaller, portion. That is why it is so important to cement healthy eating habits during the honeymoon period for when that time comes. Because believe me, the "little bit of this and little bit of that" eventually turns into weight gain. The purpose of this surgery isn't to just lose weight. The purpose is to change your lifestyle enough to keep the weight off. Otherwise, what's the point?
