Anyone else feel scared they'll gain it back?
Babbs replied to Debbieduck4's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@allyray And on the flip side, I also saw a blog from a very successful WLS person who has maintained for years say that we have to look at excersise (or being active and moving) and eating right as a job. Just like brushing our teeth every day, combing our hair, and taking a shower and washing our butts everyday, moving and choosing to eat right should just be the norm like those things. Although there are days I forget to wash my butt, I'll admit..... -
Be honest... I'm Earl, aren't I?

*Wrings hands together like Mr Burns* Excellent.....

Wow. The NERVE of her! I would have emailed Alex and asked for the thread to be deleted immediately.

Bwhahahaha!

Okay, I want the truth..... I'm the big, mean poopy pants, aren't I? Nope. You ain't big. But I DO have poopy pants....

What you're feeling is SO NORMAL. All our lives, most of us made food a priority. We wouldn't have gotten obese otherwise. You will be amazed how after you go through the surgery and healing, food will almost become an afterthought. You'll enjoy losing weight and feeling great and not having food have that hold over you anymore. I now enjoy the movie without stuffing my face, enjoy the company of others and the conversation at dinner and parties as opposed to worrying about stuffing my face. It's very freeing! Why would I regret being healthier and happier?

You're doing just fine. We all lose at different paces, and that's okay. The only time we get discouraged is when we compare ourselves to others. I know. I was an extremely slow loser (yes, even slower than you). I had lost a little over 50 pounds at 6 months, and it took me well over a year to get to my goal of 85. But I just kept my nose to the grindstone, didn't give up and kept going with my plan. I tweaked things when they needed adjusting for when I stalled (which was a lot) and stayed the course. Now I'm 4 pounds below my goal at 14 months out, feeling great and reaping the rewards of all my hard work! Try not to get discouraged, because it's really counter productive to your goals. Keep your eye on the prize and walk your own walk, and the next thing you know you'll be there too!

I did an open house today, and there was a candy dish full of Halloween candy for anyone who came to the open house. I broke down and had a fun size Heath Bar. I savored it, and I was satisfied with just the one. Victory!

Hi! Glad everything is going so well for you! Keep working on your fluids and protien and keep us posted on your progress!

@@VSGAnn2014 Great article. @@Tssiemer1 You said you're not sure she's anorexic, then went on to ask her about obsession and losing as an outlet for something missing in her life. That IS anorexia. Anorexia isn't about vanity. It's about control. The person feels their life is out of control, and this is the ONE thing they have control over, and it makes the feel safe. At the very least Bellabloom, you have a pattern of posting about fears of weight gain and remaining very slender to a point where it seems to consume you. And anytime someone is consumed by negative thoughts, no matter what they are about, it's time for some intensive therapy to help you overcome them. The fear you're going through seems normal to a certain extent, because I see it all the time on these forums. But like I said, it seems to be all consuming to you. And that's never healthy.

I told you I didn't know and didn't care. Is that not a real response? I got news for you. You can still eat around the smallest stomach in the world and gain weight. So it doesn't make one bit of difference what size Bougie is used. You still will have to do the work with your 26 or whatever the fuck size Bougie you're going to have. See? I can get pissy, too.

Good for you for putting the scale away. It will just drive you crazy unless you realize that this won't be a constant downward slope. Although it will be mostly down, you'll still have ups, and even times where things stay the same for a while. You'll get used to it with time. Doesn't make it any less aggravating! I still get aggravated about it from time to time at 14 months out!
-
No idea and don't care. I work what I have.

How sad! Is the inheritance important to you? I mean, I could see where it would be to a lot of people. If the wasn't, I would cut ties with her. Or at least only deal with her when you have to, and no more. You shouldn't have to be subjected to her abuse all the time. I've cut abusive relatives out of my life before, and I was better for it. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for your own well being.
-
I find that odd also. Usually it's perscribed automatically after surgery.....
-
@@glitter eyes Haha. I'm picturing you sitting around the house during the first few weeks with no pants on.... Hell, I'm 14 months out and I STILL don't wear pants sometimes!
-
At first, it's actually not a very nice feeling of being full. It can actually be quite uncomfortable. It definitely keeps you from wanting to feel it again, lol. It wanes over time to a more normal full feeling. Although it still doesn't take much most of the time

Take care of your mental health, and the rest will follow. Like @@BLERDgirl said, this won't be the last time you see fluctuations on the scale. You need to get to a point where you understand they happen and it's just a normal part of the whole process without going into a panic. That will help you focus on the things you really need to focus on!
-
THAT'S the reason why. You're still recovering. I didn't even feel human until about 6 weeks out. Make sure you're eating enough, drinking enough, and getting your Protein. Makes all the difference. It DOES get better. I promise.
-
I have. My issue is the low Protein to calorie ratio. Over 200 calories for only 13 grams of protein doesn't seem like much of a bargain to me. The Combat Crunch bars I've switched to have 20 grams of protein for the same amount of calories. That's probably what makes them taste so good...ha!
-
No! You guys need to try them! They are a wafer like protien bar. One of the better tasting ones I've come across...and i'm not much a a protien bar person....
-
Have you guys had Power Crunch bars?? They are AMAZING!!
-
I still drink my Premier shake every morning so I can drink my coffee at the same time. Priorities, you know. I'll have a nice breakfast like omelette's and stuff on the weekends. But coffee is ALWAYS first. Like I said, priorities.
