My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
Babbs replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Daveo That's what was odd to me. He had a bypass, and it seems it was to keep the swelling down in the opening in his pouch? So because he wasn't taking it, he couldn't keep anything down and Dr Now had to go in and widen the opening. My husband had a bypass, and I don't remember him taking any medication for that? Of course, his was almost 10 years ago, so maybe I don't remember? -
My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
Babbs replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Okay tonight's episode with Chad: Did anyone else get annoyed with Dr Now for getting mad at Chad for not wanting to take TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR A MONTH MEDICATION?? I mean, really? I wouldn't take it, either! I'm sorry! -

Amazing progress! You're doing just great! You should be so proud of yourself. -
@@Stevehud Nah. Not your fault. I'm just being a big grump.

Christ, the immaturity I see on this site sometimes boggles the mind. I guess it's time for me to take another break for a while.

A Significant Milestone
Babbs replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yay!! So, so very happy for you! You've done so well. You're always such an inspiration with your words of wisdom! You're absolutely rocking that sleeve! -
You DO realize it's not always going to be that way, right? You're in the honeymoon phase right now. Of course you can drink, eat whatever you want and not gain and if you do, take it back off immediately. I'm not bitching, either. It's no skin off my nose what you do in your free time. I'm just wanting you to understand that this easy weight loss isn't always going to be the case, and the choices you make will definitely effect your weight down the road. The weight you gain likes to hold on the further down the road you are. Just go look in the veterans forums if you don't believe me. I remember thinking I had this whole thing figured out, too. Good times.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
Babbs replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I beleive she had a tummy tuck and boobs done. But her tummy tuck is one of the best I've seen! I know that Cowgirl Jane has had her arms done, too. So yeah, there is definitely hope for good plastics. I just think much research on the surgeon ahead of time is the key. -

Go into @ JamieLogical 's profile and see her plastic surgery results. Impressive. And she had it done in Mexico. -

We're in a public forum. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you don't like it. I don't care for the Go Fund Me Approach. Feel free to ignore my posts if you like. That goes for you too, @bellabloom. To the OP: I'm very happy you're getting your surgery. Just because I don't like Go Fund Me, doesn't mean I'm not rooting for you.

Holy cow I can relate! Just living life as a non obese person. Kinda boring, kinda wonderful all at the same time. I've still got to figure out some new goals to keep me motivated. The only one I have so far is to be this size come summer so I can still wear all my new clothes! I'm having trouble pushing myself excersise wise. Just want to continue to do what works...no more, no less. Is that wrong?

I was forced into the gastric sleeve.

I honestly think she was having a full on anxiety attack along with the normal "what the hell did I just do to myself?" moment. It was the typical moment of regret ramped up to 1000...to the point of wanting to blame everyone else and being terrified of what the future holds with 85% of her stomach gone. But what do I know. I only post here. -

So hard to stay positive when there is always someone to beat you down.
Babbs replied to Fat2Phat2016's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks! I am looking for support that I am worth existing. Being a fat person my whole life is hard enough to live through. All the hurt that can come from other people. I thought I had found a forum where we all supported one another. But to hear that from another member is heartbreaking. Fat or not, how could you possibly let something a complete stranger said to you on the internet bother you so much? I would suggest you get some therapy to help you overcome some obvious self esteem issues. It's not going to help with your weight loss journey if you crumble anytime someone says something mean to you. People can be assholes, plain and simple. In real life and ESPECIALLY on the intertubes. Do like dogs do. Kick some grass on that shiat and just walk away. -
Things I Didn't Know Before Weight Loss Surgery
Babbs replied to scarletwitch19's topic in Rants & Raves
Great post! I sure am glad I work from home and not in an office environment anymore. I would either get fired or arrested for assault if I heard people were talking sh*t about my personal decisions about my body. -
Alcohol and Weightloss
Babbs replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Nope, but I'm pretty much at the end of my honeymoon phase at 18 months out. But I've seen hundreds of posts saying things change drastically the further out you get. The food you used to eat that didn't effect gain before suddenly does. The 2 or 3 pounds you could easily drop before suddenly won't come off, and sometimes they even see the scale inexplicably climbing by not doing anything different. My point frankly is this: Don't get cocky. I was a cocky newbie, too. Thinking I had this whole thing figured out and I wouldn't struggle with hunger and have the great restriction forever. Thinking that a few days of cocktails and hamburgers won't cause a gain, because how much can I REALLY eat anyway?? Well, at 18 months out, quite bit, actually! That's why choices, no matter what stage, are important. The choices you're making now may not effect your weight currently, but they sure as heck may down the road. Don't believe me? Search the veterans forums and count the hundreds of "I'm 4 years out and have gained 40 pounds!"posts. Just sayin'. -
For me it's too much sugar or too many white carbs. I try to limit both, and when I indulge too much on either, it causes terrible cravings and really does make me feel like crap. Hence the "eating like crap"

Alcohol and Weightloss
Babbs replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think it's so cute when people say "Well I'm still eating or drinking XX and I'm still losing weight!" Hate to break it to ya, but the first 6 months or so you could be eating Ho Ho's and washing them down with milkshakes and still lose weight. You do realize you're not really steering the ship that early out, right? Get back to us in about 3 or 4 years when you've kept your weight off and I'll take what you have to say a little more seriously. -

I keep saying I'm going to start quoting first posts with my responses. When will I ever learn?? -
Most of us have gone through it. We understand! Just always keep in mind that what you're feeling now will not be what you're feeling weeks and even months down the road. The first like 4 weeks or so pretty much suck. This too shall pass Stay hydrated and get your Protein in so you can heal!
-
Change is hard. Believe me, I understand! I cried the first week when my husband ate an Egg McMuffin in front of me! But the changes your are making now will all be worth it in a little while. Honest!
-
Stalls are normal from 2-6 weeks post surgery. You're not doing anything wrong except for focusing on the scale too much. Stay the course, drink your fluids and do your best to get your Protein in and you will get past the stall and continue to lose. Have you tried the pre made Premeir Protein shakes? They taste pretty good and have 30 grams of protein per serving. You can even get them at Wal Mart. Oh, and no you won't stretch your sleeve but lay off the cake
