I'm just going to throw this out there and then I'm done with this thread.... To the OP, I'm sorry you're having to deal with sleeve issues. I can imagine how frustrating it would be trying to do this as if you still have a regular sized stomach, as I've tried a hundred times before my surgery. If it were me, I would move heaven and earth in pursuit of a revision. It sounds to me like it was surgeon error, not yours. I wish you well, and keep us posted! To others in this thread, just because someone may call you out in your BS or disagree with you, doesn't mean they are a "troll" a "bully" " 9th grade girls" "hags" and so on. I find it funny the ones who complain how mean and nasty some people can be are the same ones who resort to name calling. I thought we were all adults here, but obviously not. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the "ignore" option is a glorious thing. Don't like my posts? Instead of throwing a hissy fit every time I post about how mean and unsupportive I am, just put me on ignore so you don't have to see my posts anymore. I've done it, too! No tantrums, no name calling, no flouncing, just "ignore". See how easy that is? Have a great day everyone!

How do you stop small treats from turning into daily bad habits?
Babbs replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me personally? I up my excersise to compensate. Each couple minutes I run on the treadmill, I say "That's 1 peice of chocolate, that's 2 peices of chocolate. ..." Most of the time though, I just don't keep it in the house. If I do bring goodies in the house, it's only enough for 1 serving for me and hubby so I don't keep going back for more. Here's how I handled Valentines Day this year so my sweet husband didn't try to buy me a heart shaped box full of chocolates. I called, scheduled a massage for myself on February 12th, and told him "You bought me a message for Valentine's Day, Thanks, honey!" -
Hey! That's QUEEN hag to you!

I love this post so much! Brought a smile to my face. So well deserved. You've worked so hard for those size 6's!

Haha! Some people crack me up. So defensive and indignant. "I know I'm eating like sh*t and grazing, but it's my SLEEVE!!" Comedy gold.

1 week post op weight loss!
Babbs replied to deana_m20's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's AMAZING! Not to be a downer, but don't expect that rate of loss always. Here is how it will go for you in general: After your amazing, large losses, expect a stall in the next few weeks. Don't freak out. Your body is just needing to adjust things and take a break. Once the stall is over, your losses should be at a more 'normal' rate of 2-5 pounds a week, depending on how much more weight you have to lose. Good luck and good job on your amazing first week loss! -

Relying on feeling full or amount you can eat versus portions
Babbs replied to Sharon1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The problem is as time goes by, it takes more and more food to reach that full point. Years down the road, some can eat a small dinner plate of food. Relying on fullness early out (0-12 months) isn't a big deal while losing and restriction is amazing, but getting into the habit of measuring and weighing as restriction wanes is important if you want to actually keep the weight you've lost off. -
I need help/a kick in the pants
Babbs replied to FancyCakes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@FancyCakes It will be all for nothing for HER if she keeps eating like that, not for you. You care about continuing your journey, she doesn't seem to. She's fooling herself if she thinks she can continue to eat like that and maintain her loss. The party will come to an end. I guarantee it. You somehow need to put your foot down about the food being brought in. Have her hide it or separate it from you. Or even have a come to Jesus talk with her and let her know the way she's eating is affecting or will affect both of your weight loss journeys. The other thing is just keeping yourself so full of Protein and fluids you can't possibly want or even fit that stuff into your sleeve. That's really what has worked for me most of the time. When I want to eat, I drink Water. I ALWAYS follow the protein first rule. so I stay satisfied longer. Good luck! -
@@bellabloom Just because someone is demanding sex from you, doesn't mean they're automatically attracted to you. That is also a control issue. That's like naively saying rapists are only in it for the sex.

I don't want to be 'that guy', but we do live in the era of lack of responsibility. It seems everyone has an excuse. If we don't take some kind of responsibility for our actions, then who the hell will? How does anything get accomplished otherwise? Fact is, it doesn't. Simple as that.

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

Book featured in "All of Me"
Babbs replied to pamwebb's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I believe it was The Emotional First Aid Kit by Cynthia Alexander. At least that was the only one I remember seeing in the show. It's a must read for weight loss surgery people! Even at 18 months out, I still refer back to it. -
Hopefully not so stupid question from someone just beginning research
Babbs replied to You can do this Sue!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It can be tricky for some to stop losing after they hit thier goal weight. More commonly, it's mostly just a matter of some adjusting their goal weight a little lower to give themselves a little bounce range in case of regain. I hit my goal, and did continue to see how much more I could lose just to have that buffer. Doing nothing different, it took me about 5 months to lose 9 pounds under goal. Then suddenly, I stopped losing. It didn't matter how much or how little I ate, how much or how little I excersised, my body was done losing. I have been maintaining this weight for the last 3 months. Sometimes our bodies are the ones to set our goal weight, we are just along for the ride -
80-90 lbs. That's not bad. I lost 95, I'm sure I'm quite a bit older than you, and the only problem area I have is my tummy. And that's not even too terrible (although I have considered plastics for it). Look at my pics in my profile and you'll see my skin isn't too bad. I have been exercising and lifting weights along resistance training for the last 14 months, so I think that has helped. At least I like to think it did Wow you look great! I'll be 23 next month you don't look that much older. Resistance training is an amazing idea. Have you tried shape wear for your tummy i.e. waist trainers/corsets? Thanks! And I'm old enough to be your mom, lol. Havn't tried waist trainers or corsets. Only Spanx It's really mostly skin I can't do much about without surgical intervention.

Replying to a "Wow, How are you Losing so much Weight?"
Babbs replied to BobbyD's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just say "I'm watching portions, eating healthy and excercising". You wouldn't be lying. Something always perplexed me. Why is it people always want to know HOW? I mean, how does anyone do it? By eating less and moving more. Are they looking for some magical answer? -
Why didn't you ask your surgeon if it was fixable? He would be the most qualified to know that.

A rant about dentists, dental care, dental insurance and TEETH!
Babbs replied to Sharon1964's topic in Rants & Raves
You're preaching to the choir. I have had horrible teeth my whole life. My dad was Irish, so my mom used to call our teeth "potato eating teeth" because they were so soft and prone to decay. Well, they seemed to get worse after my surgery. Although my fronts are still great, I ended up breaking off one of my last good molars on an almond. I was only chewing on one side as it was. I really wasn't interested in being on a soft diet for the rest of my life. I looked into implants. $30,000 to replace molars. Yeah, no. I had to opt for partials so I could at least chew again property. Even with insurance, $6,000 later. Thank goodness for credit and some savings! Well, at least I can chew now. And it really forces me chew slower, too -

Oh, and can I say one more thing? As someone born in the late 60's, this whole shaving your pubes thing is weird to me. I'm not saying it's WRONG, just weird..... That's not to say I haven't done it in the past. But the upkeep and itching was more of a hassel for me than anything. Besides, I keep it trimmed and minimal, so my hubby doesn't mind the natural look -

Wow. Huh. I've never heard of that for a laproscopic surgery. Maybe it's just a sanitary thing your hospital does? Yeah, go ahead and shave so that's one less thing you have to worry about -

Your fear is unfounded. It is impossible to stretch a sleeve as early out as you are. As a matter of fact, it would take YEARS of systematic overeating to the point of vomiting to even stretch it. The stretchy part was cut out during surgery. Being able to eat more as the swelling goes down and things relax a little is normal. It won't mean you stretched your sleeve. Feel better now?
