    Cheese

No love for Brie?? There is NOTHING better than a good Brie. If I could eat just one thing for the rest of my life, it would be cheese. Sure, I'd be backed up all the time, but it would be so worth it!

Would you move where has someone died?

Reading all your stories got me to thinking and remembering something..... Back in '97 my father in law died of natural causes in his house. Unfortunately, it was my husband who found the body kind of crouched over on the floor next to his bed. Heart failure, so it looked like it was very fast thank goodness. ANYHOO, we were cleaning up getting the home ready to sell when my husband went to some fast food place to get us some lunch and left me there by myself. I remember as a 30 year old being a little freaked out being by myself in the house, and especially being in the bedroom where he died. I waited out front for him to come home, lol. So I retract my last answer. I guess it did/does freak me out a little.

    So ashamed smh

Look at it this way. Sure you've put a little weight back on, but you're still a long way from where you started, right? The easiest thing to do is to get back to the "rules" of WLS Protein first (lean beef, chicken or fish that fills you up) At least 64 oz of no calorie/low calorie Fluid a day No/low processed sugar and carbs Get out and move! Don't be so down on yourself. You can get back on track and get that 30 pounds back off in no time! You can do this!
  5. Glad you're doing okay! Be careful, lady! And yes, we need to pin your post about your post op weight loss (or lack thereof) for all the newbies to see. There really is a reason why it happens, and nothing to be discouraged about!

Would you move where has someone died?

I'm a Realtor and in my state we aren't legally required to disclose whether someone has died on the property or not. I always let people know just as a courtesy because I know some people are weird about it. Me? Not so much. I'm not a believer in the supernatural or even an afterlife for that matter, so no biggie.
  7. That is absolutely heartbreaking. I hope the family can find the peace and justice they deserve. Just...heartbreaking.
  8. This is almost exact amounts for me too at almost 19 months out. It really varies from day to day, though, doesn't it? So weird how that happens!
  9. On another note....what sweet doggy parents you are! You're sacrificing a lot just for her quality of life!

My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season

I went from being really upset at Sean for acting really indifferent to the whole thing (for God's sake young man, you're going to DIE before you're 30! Don't you care??) to almost wanting to cry after seeing some sort of spark of hope in the poor kid's eyes after surgery. I really hope he makes it, and his mom gets the help she needs, too. I honestly wonder if some people could care less whether they live or die when they get to that point. Sean seemed like one of those people. So heartbreaking.
  11. I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said, but I do have to say this. DAMN there are some smart people in this forum that know what they are talking about!
  12. The only thing you need to do is be patient and keep getting your water and protein in. If stalls are going to freak you out like this, then just stay off the scale so it doesn't cause you anymore stress. Everyone stalls early out, and everyone will have several stalls throughout the process. It's going to be okay. Really.
  13. All together, it took me 18 months to lose 96 pounds. I'd lost 85 the first year. There is no expiration date on weight loss.
  14. Newly sleeved, you will only be able to eat couple to a few ounces of food, or just a few bites. You will be eating or drinking something almost every hour of the day just to get your required amount of fluids and Protein in. As time goes on, the sleeve heals a day relaxes (NOT stretches), and you will be able to eat a little more. I would say at month 3 I could eat up to 3 oz. I had a sleeve of steel, so I could tolerate anything at that point. I ate (still do) on a schedule, so I ate every 2-3 hours. Always protein first, and if there was room a couple bites of veggies. Usually no room at that point. Now at almost 19 months out, I can eat up to 5 or 6 oz of food (depending on what it is) or up to a cup. Some can eat more, some less. I still stick to the protein first rule, but now have room for more veggies (yay!) and even a couple bites of a starch if I want. I still try to stay away from processed carbs and sugar.
  15. People may have noticed, but didn't really say anything until about 70 pounds lost, which was getting close to my goal weight at that point. Really. My theory is that people have seen me so many times in different stages of weight loss as a serial dieter, they finally felt safe to say something because it looked like it was going to 'stick' this time. And at that point I'd lost more weight than I'd ever had before, too.
  16. If any of us were successful with any of the non weight loss surgery methods, we wouldn't be having the surgery, would we? Letting them know about your past diet failure attempts only shows them we need the surgery that much more.

    Why did I do this?

Just remember, what you're feeling now won't be what you're going to be feeling 1 week, 3 months, a year from now. The pain and discomfort is all temporary. You'll get through it, and come out a stronger, healthier, happier person in the end. I promise.
  19. We lost our beloved 18 year old family kitty 2 months ago. Sure he lived a good, long life, but 18 years is a long time to be a part of a family, and now that he's gone it's really left a hole in our hearts. I feel your pain. I'm not looking forward to the day I lose any of my 3 beloved Bassett Hounds who are like our kids now that my kids are grown and gone. It really is a pain like no other.

    Early weight loss stall

It's called "The Dreaded 3 week Stall". Frustrating, but totally normal. Probably won't be your last stall, either. I probably had 4 or 5 stalls in a matter of a year. They totally suck but just part of the whole process. They got me where I am now

    Blood while pooping

Bright red is good (meaning it's not internal). You've probably got hemorrhoids that have been irritated by your constipation. Or like said above, some tearing. Stool softeners are definitely in order! And yes, it's happened to me
  22. You mean in the maintenence phase? I feel in moderation and factored into your daily caloric consumption there is no issue having a drink once a week or even once a day if it's not causing you any adverse effects like weight gain or dependence. The losing phase is a bit more challenging because like stated above, drinking can hinder weight loss and rob you of the precious honeymoon period window of time where hunger is low and weight loss is easier. The honeymoon period is also a time where you should be setting up healthier habits in preparation for the maintenence phase, and in my opinion, drinking other than ocassionally doesn't really fit into that equation.
  23. Drinking calories are a WLS patients absolute worse enemy. They are easy to consume and have absolutely no nutritional value while serving up tons of calories. Just ask my husband who had a bypass 10 years ago and packed on 30 pounds in a matter of a few months from drinking Starbucks coffees and beer. That's why I never understand why people are so damn worried about how soon they can drink after surgery and then get bitchy with people if you tell them that drinking other than very occasionally after surgery may not be such a grand idea for the reasons stated above. But whatever. Not my monkeys, not my circus.
  24. Uh, I was being attacked and called names. I'm not going to stand by and let someone attack me for an honest post I made. So no, I'm not better than that. I stand up for myself and don't allow people's over sensitive reactions keep me from posting what I darn well want to post on a public forum. Now she'd asked if anyone else's spouse thought they were unattractive after they lost weight. I answered the question honestly. I'm sorry it's not what she and other people wanted to hear. The pearl clutching, over sensitive reactions of some people is really getting old on this forum. Maybe that's why I'm losing interest and coming back less and less. Or it may be just the natural progression of things, but it may be time to just move on.
