The misconceptions about WLS from people who have not had it are hysterical, but...
Babbs replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
Also, why didn't I lose 70 pounds in 2 months and get to goal in 3? My husbands best friends sister's cousin lost 100 pounds in 3 months having WLS. -
Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize there were threads that I wasn't allowed to post on? Are you threatening me? Because I do recall that's against forum rules.

Tell that to my sore bum. If it's not the staples, then what is it?? Your move, know it all. -

Thanks Jenn. I'm 8 weeks out. Don't feel like I've hit it yet. I've had to work very hard for the 36 pounds I've lost in this 8 weeks. If I don't follow the plan is will gain or not lose. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App You've got a way to go before your honeymoon phase ends. Honestly, you will lose no matter what you do for several months. It's just automatic because of the calorie restriction. But then our bodies adjust, and we have to help things along by constantly tweaking things to keep our weight consistently moving downward. You should still have great restriction and relatively low hunger for quite a while. Lucky you

Around the 18 month mark, I noticed something changed. I was hungrier, and suddenly I could eat so much more than before. If I didn't actually measure out my food to force myself to stop, it's almost alarming how much I can eat of certain foods. My cravings for foods I really haven't even thought about before is ramping up, too. Without *seemingly* doing anything different, I have gained almost 5 pounds within a month. I have really buckled down, am tracking EVERY BITE that goes into my mouth, and have managed to lose 1.5 of the 5 I've gained, but it's not coming off that easily. But I'll continue to fight! I don't want to scare anyone, but these are the realities we all have to face eventually when the honeymoon period ends. Boooooo!

I always wish more people understood that like with anything in life, in order to be successful you need to be in the right frame of mind. Whether it's sports we play, our careers, the way we handle stress, relationships, raising our kids or weight loss surgery, the power of positive thinking can go a long way and people who are more prone to staying positive I have found are more successful. Nice post

Doing a quick Google search, it seems it's not possible either. But I'm no surgeon so who knows?

One Liners for so-called friends...
Babbs replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good for you! I tell most people, too. But guess what? People are different, and some choose not to tell for various reasons and I respect that. I don't think they are ashamed about it at all. Cape Crooner gave some great answers to people's intrusive questions for people who don't want to disclose that they had WLS, and that's really what this thread is about. Let's not make it another of a million other threads about whether we are morally obligated to tell people we had WLS. You do you. -

Alcohol and drugs after surgery
Babbs replied to jmc534's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Go drop some Molly and smoke a carton of cigarettes. That will make you feel better. For someone who likes to have fun, you sure are being sensitive. -

Good for you for focusing on having fun as opposed to your health! Being healthy is so overrated. -
I would have laughed. But that's just me. Thrift stores and clearance racks were my friend as I was losing. Please wear clothes that fit your new body as you're shrinking. You feel so much better when you're not wearing clothes that are baggy and falling off of you. You're worth it.

What she said ^^^ Let's put it into perspective. I lost 53 pounds in 6 months. Now look at my pictures in my profile. It all came off eventually. Now I'm maintaining my 90 some pound loss, and it doesn't matter one bit how long it took me. It's not a 'how fast can we lose weight' contest. You're doing great. Keep it up.

Can a Icee stretch your pouch
Babbs replied to Tmitch817's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why are we even giving this person the time of day? Looking through her posting history, she is one of the most ill informed people about proper nutrition and bariatric surgery in general I've ever seen. Facts don't matter to her. She must be a Trump supporter. -

Weigh Your Food: It is accurate and will save you calories.

Doc said weight loss plan was a waste of time. I need encouraged.
Babbs replied to Beck90's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ANY movement that gets your heart rate up is good for you and will burn calories. Yes, that includes sex, deep cleaning your house, playing with your kids...anything. Your surgeon may be good at doing surgery, but his beside manner sucks. -
@@VSGAnn2014 Thanks, sweets! I am a depressive by nature, and have been on medication most of my adult life for it until I got sleeved. I thought I may have licked it and could go without being medicated, but it's starting to rear it's ugly head again and getting unmanageable. I'm going to ramp up my exercise and get some more sun and see if that helps. I'll figure it out. I always do. Sorry for the threadjack, @JamieLogical.

I'm having a bit of the opposite problem. I'm a touch depressed due to some personal issues, so I've been slacking off on exercise and not tracking appropriately, causing an almost 5 pound gain this last month (although it never affected me much before weight wise). I'm fighting hard to keep my head in the game and stay on track. I hope you can work out your issues and find your appetite! Maybe just try drinking some shakes as meal replacements just to make sure you're getting enough protein?

Crazy question about your stomach
Babbs replied to Kendell Thatsme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The more you lose, the more your stomach will shrink. I carried a lot in my tummy, but have also lost quite a bit there too. It's not flat by any means, but it doesn't stick out further than my boobs anymore! I've got some skin that makes it look a little bigger that really will only be corrected through surgery. In the mean time I excersise regularly and the muscles that are there aren't too shabby -
Good job! I love seeing people who become successful losing the regain because I know it's so much harder to lose than the first time! I myself am struggling with an almost 5 pound gain at only 21 months out and it's not wanting to come off so easily!

One month post op! Down 25 pounds but freaking out because weight loss has slowed !
Babbs replied to dawnmac3903's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Manage your expectations. There is no expiration on weight loss, nor is this some sort of relay race. If you continue to set weight goals and expect to lose 25 pounds every month, you're going to be disappointed time and time again. You're doing just great as far as I can tell. Stay the course, adjust accordingly if need be to continue to lose inches as well as weight, be happy with the progress you've made as opposed to how far you may need to go, concentrate on what you can control and not what you can't and you'll be one happy girl. -
Ultimately, it's not the sleeves job to do it for you. It's yours. The people who never realize that are the ones who will never get to goal or do and gain most or all of it back. Simple as that.
