5 months post op and Stalling help!

What kind of exercise are you doing? Are you tracking your calories/protein? Are you getting all your Water in? You're not getting ANY carbs? Not even from veggies and fruits? -
Thinking of doing new things with pics

That's gonna take a lot of wax....and pain. -
@@for_me You started with a lower BMI than most. As a rule, the lower the BMI, the slower the weight loss (although yours isn't even "slow") If you're losing, you're doing great! Drink your Water, get your Protein, stay away from carbs except for green veggies, and move a little and the weight will keep coming off. As time goes by, some tweaking may be needed to keep things moving along, but you will figure it out. Feeling defeated and discouraged does you no good. It hinders things. Believe me, I know. It took me months to just accept the fact that as long as I keep doing what I need to do, the weight will come off at my body's own pace, and there isn't a damn thing I can do about it otherwise. Now I am less than 20lbs from goal. It's not a race to the finish line. Enjoy the journey. You will get there.

It's not the failure that kills you...it's the giving up that will!
Babbs replied to I Can and I Will's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks for your advice and honesty. I find posts like these help keep me grounded and in check. I am still in the honeymoon period where although the weight loss is slow, I'm at least still losing. I know it won't always be this way, and posts like yours always remind me to always be diligent in my eating and exercise, even when I don't feel like it. The minute I let up, I am in danger of all my old unhealthy habits coming back to derail everything I've worked so hard for. I intend to stay on these boards as long as I possibly can to keep me in check -

Fear of STRETCHING Sleeve!

Swelling. As the swelling goes down, the sleeve holds more. Simple as that -
Ha! I do the same thing! It seems to always make me feel better, lol. And makes me go out and buy pants that actually fit

@@Pac-woman Positive feedback is great, but giving pie in the sky advice that may not necessarily be the case for everyone can be a slippery slope...that's all I'm saying.

It is a fact that once skin stretches to a certain point, no amount of toning will make it magically snap back. If it hasn't stretched to that point, then it may with exercise and toning. Simple as that. If toning and exercise always helped with saggy skin, then why do people still have plastics??

As a rule, the less you have to lose, the slower the weight loss. Everyone loses at their own pace. Look at my stats. I'm 8 months out and have lost 65 and have at least 20 more to go. But it has been steady aside from an occasional stall. Keep getting as much Water and Protein as possible, move a little and it will come off at the rate your body wants it to. I promise.

You're earlier out than I am, but you are going to see you will have some months slower than others as your weight loss starts to even out a little. You can expect the more "average" weight loss of 1-3 lbs a week. So you are doing just fine! At this point ( 8 months out), 4.5 pounds is a good month for me. So far this month I've only lost 2.5 :/

New Tummy...and much to do about nothing?
Babbs replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I suffer from pretty severe GERD, and I still have to take a PPI, but my stomach still is noisy at 8 months out! Doesn't bother me much, except for social situations. I love the looks I get sometimes.... -
@@kimpossible67 Kim I'm so sorry. My heart is breaking for you. My mom passed away 4 years ago due to heart issues, also. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

My NUT recommended under 50 grams. Keep in mind, carbs cause cravings for sugar and more carbs. Fill your sleeve with lean protein and veggies, not bread. You will get more nutritional bang for your buck. Protein keeps you fuller longer, also.

Sleeping on your side right after surgery?
Babbs replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a stomach sleeper, so sleeping on my back was hard. As soon as I got home, I used a pillow between my legs and slept on my side/stomach the best I could. I think I was back to sleeping fully on my stomach about a week out. -
My one chance, don't want to screw it up!
Babbs replied to Goldy6575's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you are doing just fine from the info you've given. I know that me and many other sleevers don't track fat at all. I eat full fat cheese, dressings, mayo etc...just in smaller quantities. The only suggestion I would give is try to up your Protein a little. Try to make sure you're getting 60 grams or more a day. Keep up the good work! You're doing great! -
@@kimpossible67 Hope your mama is on the mend! Take care of yourself, too! @@Kindle I'm so sorry to hear that. Hang in there and know we all are thinking about you during this difficult time.
