Nope, you absolutely will not if you work that sleeve the way it's intended! Great post!

What's normal weight loss?
Babbs replied to KM1284's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol I had about a 3 month bout with dizziness. Definitely lack of calories or low blood sugar. Was actually going to see a doctor about it, but it finally stopped about a month ago. I still get it once in a while when I stand up too fast. That's when I know it's time to eat something! -
Just breath. Sounds like your doctor's weren't very helpful in calming your fears. Just let your body adjust and make sure you're getting all your fluids and protein. That's your priority right now. The weight loss will follow. Make sure you're moving a little, too. It's completely normal after surgery for your body to stall. There are hundreds of threads in this forum alone about it! Hang in there!

What's normal weight loss?
Babbs replied to KM1284's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What she said. Too many variables (age, gender, starting BMI) to really know what is "normal". As long as you're losing, you're doing great! -
Yup, back to basics. Just like what @@Seahawkgirl said. Protein and veggies with every meal. Stay away from complex carbs completely until you can get back on track. Get your fluids in somehow. If you're not exercising, start. Even if it's just walking. It's hard to get back on track, but once you do, you will start to lose weight again and feel more in control. That should keep your momentum going! You can do this. But you've got to recommit to it.

Those sleevers who have met there goal THIS IS FOR YOU
Babbs replied to tamelntre's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're 6 weeks out? You should be getting your protein at this point from mainly food anyway. Lean meats (ground beef, chicken, pork, seafood) Greek yogurt, eggs, cheese are all good sources for you at this point. Just introduce some meat slowly to see how your tummy handles it. Make sure chicken is moist, if it's too dry it can feel "stuck" sometimes. Hope that helps! -

@@tamelntre Atta girl! I think that's a GREAT idea! You just keep getting your Protein and fluids, and you will see results! Keep off that damn scale, and see how your clothes will be falling off of you -
Those sleevers who have met there goal THIS IS FOR YOU
Babbs replied to tamelntre's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@tamelntre I'm one of those people who didn't really keep track monthly as I was losing. I believe I had lost like 20 the first month or so (may have been at 6 weeks) and 50 by month 5. I personally slowed down considerably after month 5. Like what was said above, there are SO many variables as to how quickly or slowly each individual loses. Don't get so hung up on the numbers, and don't compare your weight loss with others. Just do what you need to do, and it will come off at your pace. -

@@tamelntre Except for height, our stats look the same. I started at 235 the day of surgery, and as of today I have lost 68 pounds. On 5/22, it will be my 9 month surgiversary. I'm considered a slow loser, and have stalled quite a bit along the way. I am hoping by my 1 year to hit goal, but I'm averaging 2-6 pounds a month at this point, so it may not happen. That's okay I'm happy with my progress, running almost 2 miles a day, strength training and really enjoying feeling healthy and strong! I know I will get there eventually! -
Stalled...trying to get out of it.
Babbs replied to kyrickchick64's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm the Queen of stalls! It really is trial and error what works to get you over it. Up your calories, up your carbs, increase exercise, decrease exercise, increase your Water.... you get the idea. It can all be so frustrating! But sometimes you really do have to analyze what you're doing or not doing and shake things up a bit. Be honest, and start tracking calories, Protein, water, carbs, etc if you feel maybe a few bad habits may be slipping in here and there to slow things down or stop loss completely. And sometimes if you are doing everything right, you just have to wait it out. If you're doing the right things, the body will respond eventually -
Don't feel bad! Yogurt is kind of considered a liquid, so you can put away a little more. And Chobani is good!

@@joatsaint Thank you so much I'm pretty proud of how far I've come, too. I am someone who has always HATED running (hated any exercise, really) my whole life. Now at almost 48 years old, I have fallen in love with it Who would of thunk it?? -
I'm sure you look and feel amazing. You've done an outstanding job working that sleeve! And yeah, your weight loss has been so dramatic, I'm sure it's hard for people to get used to. I don't think it's going to happen with me, but when my husband had a RNY 9 years ago, his 6' frame got down to 165lbs. That's ALL he heard was "you're too thin, I'm worried about you". When he complained to his surgeon about the comments, his surgeon simply said "There are so many overweight and obese people these days, nobody even knows what a normal weight is supposed to look like anymore". Made sense to me.

How many calories should we be eating a day.

How many calories should we be eating a day.
Babbs replied to tamelntre's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Here's a general rule: 1-4 Weeks: 400+ calories 5-6 Weeks: 500-600 calories 6-8 Weeks: 600-800 calories 8 Weeks and beyond: 800-1000 calories Just an example, others mileage may vary (as Ann says) At six months, I started ramping up my exercise so brought my calories up from 800 to 1000. Now in my 9th month, I'm up to about 1,100, and losing okay at this point. I also run up to 2 miles a day and weight train. -
@@coleenrenee Girl! I just looked at your stats! You've lost over 100lbs?? Pfffft. You got this!
-
@@coleenrenee No seriously, you have no stats posted except your beautiful face on your profile, so I'm not sure how much you have to lose. You will lose quite a bit at first. But it does slow down as time goes by and you get thinner. You are going to have amazing weight loss months, and not so amazing months as your body adjusts. And some stalls. Expect the stalls. Just keep doing what you're supposed to do (move a little, drink your Water, eat your Protein and stay away from complex carbs) and you will continue to lose!

Hmmmm, I don't know if I could do 5 MPH 20 minutes straight without DYING, lol -
Please tell me I didn't do this for 1-2 lbs a week ... You'd better sit down...
-
Sh*t at this point I'll take 1-2lbs every OTHER week, lol.

Isn't that weird how that happens? I'm experiencing a little of it right now. I used to roll my eyes a little at people who claimed they didn't feel they looked smaller, or just couldn't see it when they looked in the mirror. Now I'm experiencing it, too. Karma has a great way of kicking you in the butt.

Guys I have a question..... Are you running on a treadmill? I've been confused about how to register my speed on the treadmill. It gives me numbers, but it gives them to me at like the 2 mile mark and I'm not sure if it's telling me that's my mile time or what? Sorry, kind of silly I know... I'm not very tall (just barely 5'5") so I'm only running at like a 4.3 -4.5 speed on the treadmill. I'm trying to work my way up to 5...so are those numbers MPH? I'm new to all this, and haven't really concentrated on speed or anything. Just have been proud of myself that I can run 20-22 minutes non stop....that seems to be about a mile and three quarters distance registering on the treadmill. Slow, I know, but I'm still pretty proud -
How tall is she? I mean with all due respect, 112 pounds is thin. You're actually on the low end of BMI before you're considered underweight. But hey, if you feel healthy, your doctor is good with it, and are happy at your weight, that's great. But there's no denying you're thin. Too thin? Not quite yet, but you're close.... And yes, I think the change is so dramatic that it's probably freaking her out a little.

Wow!! Awesome job!

5 days post op can't do all liquid diet. Anyone else do okay on soft foods?
Babbs replied to nugirl402's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Guys, everything you're feeling is normal. It's also such a short time in the grand scheme of things. Two months from now, this stage will be a blip on the radar and you will have lost some weight, almost be eating normal food, and will be feeling pretty good. And months down the road from that, you may even resort to going BACK to liquids just to jump start stalled weight loss. Happens all the time. Oh the irony....
