Where are all my May Sleevers?
sandirufophoto posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How's everyone doing? Getting in your H2o, Protein, walking and dealing with random stalls? I just returned from vacation in Aruba and it was great but the eating part sucked! There was so much good food that my family enjoyed. I'd have two bites and have to run to the bathroom to throw up. I know I was eating too fast, I'm sure but it was so hard. All the waiters kept asking if everything was ok. I hadn't weighed myself for the week and I was walking so much that I was sure I'd get home and find that I lost 10lbs. Wrong! I gained a lb! Guess I wasn't eating enough. Even now that I'm home, I'm finding it hard to keep my dinner down. Anyone else having this problem at 7 weeks out? -
6 days post op and my incisions are so itchy! Is this normal? Anyone else having this problem?

Where are all my May Sleevers?

Hellloooo all skinny people! Haven't been on here in forever! I'm jealous of everyone that's doing so well, so you've all inspired me to get moving again. I've definitely just let the weight fall off but now I've got to take it up a notch. Started at 242, lost 68 lbs, need to loose 30 more. But I'm so flabby, yuck! But it's okay because I can wear awesome skinny clothes and no one sees the flab. Problems- drinking alcohol Not exercising Eating crap, even though small bites. What keeps you going? -

Great to see everyone checking in.congrats to all! I'm down 60lbs- 183! So happy, I never thought this was possible. I feel great. I eat whatever I want just a bite or two and mostly focus on protein. I graze on beef jerky all the time. I have wine after dinner (even though it isn't advised) half a glass is all I can take. My husband says I'm a cheap date, lol. Keep up the good work all my May sleevers! -

Hi May Sleevers! Wanted to check in with everyone and see your progress. I feel great, been taking ballet classes (childhood pastime) and clothes fit great. Finally wearing a size 12. I really do t mean to complain but I have been the. Same weight for over a month. Anyone else experience this? Just wondering if the weight loss is over. -
Does anyone know exactly why we're not supposed to have any alcohol? I'm almost 4 months out and would love to have a glass or two of wine with dinner. Is there any danger or is it just the fact that it would be empty calories?

Yay! Yay! Yay! Me too! 197lbs from 242. So happy. I've been purging my closet of all my 18, 16, and 14's. Love being in regular size clothes again. -

Sounds like we're all struggling a bit with the changes but the good news is we're all losing which is what we did this for in the first place. Good luck everyone and keep in touch:) -
Peanut butter cookie shake, omg!
sandirufophoto posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Syntrax makes a peanut butter cookie shake that is relish! A sample was included in a recent order. I saw it available on amazon. Mix with skim plus for 34 grams of protein. -
Same here. Sleeved May 14th, lost 13lbs and then dead stall for over a week. I purposely didn't weigh myself for a week and was so depressed after getting on the scale to see it the same as the week before.

Why am i feeling this way
sandirufophoto replied to LaurieC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been feeling very tired and light headed when I stand up. My Dr said I wasn't getting enough water. I upped my water to 64oz and my protein is about 90 gms. Still feel like crap. What gives? -
I'm over the purée thing too. I'm three weeks out and really eat whatever I can chew until baby food consistency. Seems to be working just fine. I even had a bit if chicken Parmesan!

3 weeks post op and feeling exhausted
sandirufophoto posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
SAw DR last week and here told me the lightheaded feeling and exhaustion is from dehydration so I upped my fluids to 70-80oz. Proteins around 90gms but still have no energy. Whenever I go for a walk I have to sit down because I feel faint. Anyone else feel like this? I have to work two 12 hour days back to back this weekend and I afraid I won't make it. -

Unfortunately, not working isn't an option for me. I'm a wedding photographer and couples book me a year in advance. So I guess I'll just be taking a lot of time outs during the day, but better than not showing up. I'll rest during the week, lol. -
7 Days out and I still wake up with sharp pains in my chest. I know it must be gas, but so uncomfortable. How long before this disappears?

I NEED EFFIN COFFEE!
sandirufophoto replied to DaddyMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been having coffee since I got home from the hospital. I make one 6 oz cup, have a small amount in an expresso cup then use the rest for my afternoon shake. I use 4oz coffee and 4oz water mixed eith vanilla shake. Yummy pick me up. -
Pour the isopure room temp over 8oz ice. It dilutes it, keeps it cold and give you additional 8 oz of water. Win-win!

Has anyone NOT lost any hair? Please reassure me.
sandirufophoto replied to shelly75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I asked mr DR about hair loss here said "you will lose hair, and it will be a lot,but it grows back." Also here said between 7-9 months out is when to expect it. Not happy about this:( -
Omg! How'd you get that down? I puréed chicken and enchilada sauce and I paid for it all night with stomach pains. Going to try cottage cheese (yuk) and fruit this morning.

Graduated to puréed foods today. Not sure where to start. -
I've been adding spices to my chicken broth and it's been great. Seeing my DR tomorrow and praying for puréed stage. Today I went to trader joes and bought a few frozen entrees that seem like I could purée them and still have flavor. Chicken enchiladas, yum!

Did anyone get in all of their fluids and protein the first week?
sandirufophoto replied to ChavaBling's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Found isopure black tea today in Vitamin shoppe. Filled a glass with ice and really hit the spot. I felt kinda normal for awhile -
When I first heard of the puréed meat stage, I gaged but now I would purée a paper bag I'm so desperate for actual food! Anyone else feel completely exhausted? I can't even get through a food shopping trip without wanting to sit down. Normal?
