  1. Get the isopure grape, takes like gatoraid. A few bucks a bottle but it counts as protein and water. Worth it to have one a day.
  2. I've been very lucky with getting all my protein and water in after 5 days, here's what worked for me: Bariatric advantage shake = 8 oz water, 30 protein My fav, by far- Isopure grape. Pour over 8 oz ice cubes 3 x a day= 24 oz water and 40 protein Unjury chic broth with 8 oz water= 8 oz water and 21 protein Alternate with crystal light and ice pops to meet fluid req I'm 10 days post op and do this everyday. Now that I'm on full liquids I add a bit of crem soup and pudding or yogurt and keep everything else the same. Good luck.

    May 2014 Sleevers

Happy Memorial Day to my fellow May Sleevers. Hope everyone is feeling good and enjoying the weekend. Wondering how everyone is dealing with the holiday and all that BBQ? Yesterday I chewed and spit a bit of pickle but a seed accidentally got down and gave me pain for 10 minutes. Do not try this. Lick something instead. I'm getting alittle stir crazy not chewing. Anyone else? Plus sick of all the sweet stuff.

    5 days out... too nervous?

I finally had a BM on the 7th day. But very little, you have to realize you haven't really eaten anything other than Fluid. It takes time and unless you feel constipated you probably just aren't ready. Skip the laxatives. Good luck and happy pooping!

    May 2014 Sleevers

Needed some retail therapy desperately. First off, I went with caution about buying clothes that wouldn't fit for long but...when I tried on a size 14 and it fit I decide to treat myself to a few items. Best feeling so far!

Feeling like crap 1 week post op

Nolagirl- I had the same terrible chest pain with lightheadedness. Saw the DR yesterday and here told me to use the breathing thingy (don't remember what it's called) every two hours. It's a mucus clot that gets stuck and can eventual cause pneumonia if you don't clear it. I did what here said and within the first hour I felt better, it did come back over night, so keep breathing! Good luck! Keep us posted.

    I got sleeved May 15,2014

Hi there, I got sleeved on May 14th too. I am the biggest advocate of the isopure grape. It is alittle sweet, so I fill a glass with 8 oz of ice cubes (= water) and sip throughout the day. After 3 glasses I've gotten 40 protein and 40/50 oz water. My DR was amazed at my recovery and ability to get all my water and protein. Each day gets a little easier.

    Gas pains in chest

Update on chest pains and suggestions if anyone else is having the same problem. DR said its mucus that gets caught, causes lightheaded ness, to solve use breathing thingy every two hours. Worked like a charm, although it does come back overnight. This and inactivity cause pneumonia. So keep breathing Sleevers!

    May 2014 Sleevers

I'm definitely no pro but I see a lot of people having a tough time and I'm only 5 days out but these things seem to be working for me. Of course seeing some movement on the scale helps a lot. First thing in the morning I make a cup of coffee, pour a small amount into an espresso cup with an ice cube and dash of skim milk. Mmmm, so good. Walk and use the breathing thingy. I wasn't using it and got a fever in the hospital. Meds with applesauce omiprazole Pour premier shake into tiny coffee cup and sip throughout the morning. 30 protein. Walk and breathing again Isopure 40 protein poured over ice, sip throughout day. Ice helps the taste and gets the water in. Sf ice pops as a treat good for water. Walk again Un jury chic broth sip warm 21 protein Each day I feel better. Slept a full 12 hours last night. Ready to attempt a shower today. Hope this helps some of you struggling. Just think it can only get better and were on the other side of this now. Keep me posted.

Try the isolate grape flavor. It tastes like gateraid and helps with the nauseous feeling.
