Well, lets see I've been heavy all my life. It got worse after my 1st divorce and from there on I just kept on gaining weight. I actually got up to around 530 pounds and that was back in 2009. I've lost 201 pounds on my own since. I'm on a roller coaster and I thought it was time to get the surgery. I used to look at it as its an easy way out but it really isn't. Getting the VSG is a tool to help thats all. I will continue to go workout as I do now and I will get to my goal weight of 160 maybe 155 but I will be happy at 160. I have to lose 35 pounds before the surgery and I'm nearly half way there I have lost 15 so far and its been a month. I go see the surgeon for my second appointment on May 1st and then the 3rd appointment on June 5th and that's when I need to have the 35 pounds off. But at the rate I'm going now I believe I will have that 35 off by my second appointment. I started out working out at home on the treadmill for 10 minutes a day at 1.7 mph and that was 2-3 days a week. I now do the treadmill for 30 minutes at 2.2 mph with 1.0 inlcine, weights for 10-15 minutes, swim 66 laps and an hour class for water aerobics. I do that 5-6 days a week now.
I'm very excited to get this surgery and be healthy finally. I would like to get out there and have a job again and not hide out at home anymore.
