  1. I still get so played out so easily. I have to push myself to do 10 minutes on the treadmill. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow & was hoping to have more energy by now. I have also noticed a slight twinge only right side right under my rib cage. So worried of complications but not really wanting to call the dr because it's not constant just occasional. Anyone else have that issue?
  2. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow so right now most of my protein is from Isopure drinks. I also eat cottage cheese & yogurt with unflavored protein powder in it.
  3. I just had my first post op visit yesterday & asked my dr about having no energy. He assured me it is usual because of your body dropping weight so rapidly. He said when the weight lose slows down some you will have a lot more energy. I totally know what you mean I get played out getting a shower. I couldn't handle the canned broth so I made mine with boulin (spelling) cubes and water & it was good. Also I had strained cream soups which were awesome.
  4. I just went to GNC & bought the unflavored protein powder and I add a teaspoon to yogurt soup cottage cheese and anything else I think of. One scoop is 25g but I think that scoop is huge so I just spoon a little in. I'm sure to drink one full Isopure drink a day and keep track of my protein intake on mfp & it says I am getting between 65 & 70 grams a day & that's not including the amounts unflavored I add. I couldn't handle the protein shakes after surgery they were entirely too sweet!
  5. I haven't really set one but now that I think about it a couple small goals might help me to see that it really is working & not just focusing on losing 200+ pounds. Maybe I will set my first one for 350 & see how it goes from there.
  6. Haven't heard any updates on anyone lately. How is everyone doing? I had a check up yesterday & am down 18 pounds since surgery hopeful or Keeps going like this. I'm finally under 400lbs first time in about 5 years.
  7. I wish I would have known how sweet things made me want to be sick. I couldn't handle the pudding & protein shakes made me gag with their sweetness. To get my protein in I went to GNC & got Isopure drinks not as sweet & 40 grams per bottle so now protein is going good! The emotional part I was totally unprepared for. I am not quite 3 weeks out & still find myself crying occasionally not near as bad as the first week though. I was full of regret the first couple days. Things are getting better as time goes on & this site has been a god send. I can't wait for all the energy everyone says about & I have to keep reminding myself that I just had major surgery. I get on the treadmill everyday & try for 10 minutes but I'm lucky if I get 7 minutes done before I have to quit. I am taking baby steps & praying it works.
  8. How far out from being sleeved do most complications occur? I am 17 days post op & still am very worried about complications. So far I have had no issues. I feel so bad for everyone who has had them. My prayers are with you.
  9. Yes I had mine done on April 3rd. The first week was the hardest but I'm still not hungry & have to remind myself to eat.
  10. Just got on the treadmill for the first time today. Did 10 minutes I know it's not much but it's a start and I didn't want to over do it. Can't wait for the pounds to be melting away
  11. It should not affect your surgery my dr didn't even require a preop liquid diet

    10 months out

I too am hoping it can come off quick. I can't wait until I get my life back. I want to take long walks along the beach on vacation & be able to run & play with my daughter
  13. I started soft foods today & yum!! Cottage cheese never tasted so good. I was worried I would get nausea but I didn't so I am extremely happy. Sipping all morning after my breakfast & going to attempt a hard boiled egg for lunch. Definitely feeling much better than last week

    Thinking of Quitting- I'm overwhelmed

My dr did not require any liquid diet before surgery. I was just not allowed to eat or drink anything after midnight the day of surgery. I ended up eating a sub to say goodbye the night before surgery. I was sleeved 4/3.
  15. That was exactly what I told my husband too that my emotions are just as bad if not worse than when I was pregnant and just after having my daughter. My hormone levels are totally out of whack!
  16. I am only 9 days put and I also felt exactly the same way around day 4 & 5. The past couple days have not been too bad though. I still cry at least once a day and sometimes wonder why but then I remember to take it one day at a time sometimes one hour at a time. I'm still not convinced I did the right thing but I'm trying to be positive & think positive. This site has helped me a lot.
  17. Hi everyone my HW was 432 day of surgery 402. I just was sleeved on April 3. I have no idea if I have lost anything yet since I don't have a scale that is big enough to weigh myself at home. I go to the dr on Tuesday so we will see then. I did this because I want to have a better life. I have a 7 year old daughter & I want to be able to walk on the beach with her & run outside & play with her. I am kinda concerned though because I see all these posts people make about how they are walking so much at just two weeks out. I get played out taking a shower. I know I'm only one week out but should I still be getting so played out? I want to do the best I can with this but the thought of walking a distance scares the crap out of me. I am getting 50 to 60 grams of protein a day and at least 64 oz of fluid

    diet pepsi lovers?

I was a major diet Pepsi drinker. At least a 2 liter a day could easily drink a case on a weekend. I just got the sleeve on 4/3/14 and so far it hasn't bothered me not having a diet Pepsi. I'm only a week out but so far so good. The night before my surgery my husband looked at me & said so is that your last one I said yep & I haven't wanted one since. Hopefully I can say the same a month from now
  19. That was the same thoughts I had too initially but then I thought that was kinda weird but oh well I'm a week out today & so far have had no major complications.
  20. Did everyone's dr require a pre op liquid diet? My dr didn't just nothing to eat or drink after midnight the day before surgery
  21. I was sleeved April 3rd so I am 6 days out. I had to stay in hospital 2 nights. The original plan was to send me home after a 1 night stay but due to the dr running behind & the surgery not starting until after 4pm & having nausea as soon as I woke up the dr & I both chose for me to stay an extra day. I live about an hour and a half from the hospital & he said that he would rather have me throwing up in the hospital where he could keep an eye on me. Anyways after the anti nausea meds it wasn't too bad just really sore. Getting in and out of bed was the hardest. Since I have been home though my emotions are all over the place. I'm not hungry but it seems wrong to not want to eat what my family is eating. It smells good & looks good I'm just not interested then I get upset because I start wondering if I'm EVER going to be able to eat with them again. I know I have to be patient & I am trying.
  22. Thanks for finding it. I hope I can have enough humor about everything in a couple of weeks. It's great to know that this site is here and everyone seems so helpful. Helps put me back in the right mindset. My husband went to GNC tonight & got me Isopure drinks to try & I think it will be a nice switch up for a little. At least I am not gagging trying to get a sweet protein shake down. It actually reminds me of gateraide.
  23. I was also sleeved the 3rd. I am so sick of the sweet drinks & protien shakes. Tonight I just sat & cried kinda wishing I didn't go through with it. I haven't had too many complications just a little nausea. The hospital sent me home with an ice pack to keep the swelling down on my stomach but didn't say how long to use it. I feel much better when I use it but hope I am not slowing anything down. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. I need to get out of this mind set that I made a mistake doing this. I am 40 years old & bw 432 cw 402 that was the day of my surgery. I haven't been on a scale since.
