    Itching!

I had itching and red blotchy skin on both my sides after surgery. I just used anti-itch cream for a few days and it went away.

    medical bracelets for Sleevers?

My surgeon also gave me a card to keep in my wallet. Then I started thinking that in a real emergency no one is going to bother going thru my wallet except maybe to find my I'D. So I have seriously thought about a medical ID bracelet.

    Incisions

I had my surgery on 4/14 and have 4 incisions.
  5. So I am 18 days post op. I had my first bowel movement on day 8. I felt it was typical because of the liquid only. Now that I am on soft foods it's been 10 days. I know I have to go but I am so constipated that it won't come out and I dont want to push and hurt my new little tummy. I tried a sepository but still nothing. I am trying prune juice and Colace (stool softener) now. Does anyone have any other suggestions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Surgery tomorrow

The only items I used for my 3 day stay at the hospital was a robe, my chapstick, and my phone charger. The clothes I wore to the hospital I wore home. (Except for my underwear) LoL. Good luck to u.

    Hitting the gym

I too had surgery on 4/14 . So at 2 weeks I was told not to lift more than 15 lbs so I can do little 5 lbs weights and I can walk use the treadmill and use the elliptical. At my month appt the doc will let me know if I am ready to advance.
  9. Just my opinion but I would leave the glue. They do appear to be scabbing over and the glue will just help to let them heal more thoroughly.

    trying to do right!

I was told that men are usually told to intake 80-90 grams of protien. Women are usually told to intake 50-60 grams.
  11. The itching probably means that the incisions are healing. My surgeon told me to just lightly wash over the incisions and the glue will eventually come off. He just told me not to peel the glue off. I am 2 weeks post op.

    Scared mom

Britt. I am a mother of 3 and I am 32. My whole life I have never been bigger than a size 12 (typically a size 8-9) until 6-7 years ago I began to gain weight and it didn't stop until I was a size 20. I am now 12 days post op and I dont regret my decision. My husband had mixed emotions but I did what I felt was best for me. As far as you having another kid, I have a friend at work who is 1 year post op (the sleeve) and she is 5 months pregnant. She has not had any significant weight gain but it is still so soon after the surgery that she is being monitored closely. I believe that after you have done all your research try support groups to see if they can offer you any insight. I wish you nothing but the best.
  13. The only pill I swallow is my Pepcid tablet. All my vitamins r chewable. Since surgery the taste has changed a little but it is tolerable. I just find it easier.

    Keeping drinks cold?

I keep my drink in the fridge. I take out the little portion that I am able to intake at that time and then put the rest in the fridge.

    Help

I am 9 days post op and I drink premier protien but I have to add a little 2% milk to it because it is to thick. It makes it smoother .. and as far as water I was adding a little propel water to my water because plain water would make my stomach spasm. Everyone is different so you just gotta find things that work for you.

    Low Carb Yogurt?

Also look at the sugar content. I also eat the Dannon lite and fit because the sugar is less than most Greek yogurts.

    8 days post op

Have u tried mixing the protien? What I mean is that before surgery I liked the premier protien pre-made shakes but now that I am post op they weren't going down so easily. So now I put it in a container and mix it with 2% milk (less than 1/4 cup) and it goes down so much easier. Almond milk isn't that bad either.
  20. I had surgery on Monday the 14th. My surgeon had me drink 10 oz of magnesium citrate the afternoon before to clear myself out. I pass gas just fine but have not have a bowel movement. I do not have any discomfort in my lower stomach so I just think that because of the liquid only diet that there's just really not anything to release right now.
  21. Super fab when did that feeling go away?
  22. I am 4 days out of surgery and am having a hard time consuming my liquids. I feel like whatever I drink it gets stuck in my chest. Right above my diaphragm. It is uncomfortable feeling and I feel like my stomach spasms whenever I take to big of drinks. I think today I have only been able to intake about 8-10 oz of water. I have had broth and and sugar free instant breakfast with almond milk but was only able to finish about 1/4 of the cup

    April 14th

I also had my surgery on the 14th. I did not have any gas pain. And the discomfort was vary minimal. I have stuck to water, broth and sugar free popsicles. I will add in my protein shake tonight for dinner. But just getting the water in is a task itself. If I take to big of a drink I feel like it gets stuck between my esophagus and the top of my stomach. Best of luck to you.
