What I'm really afraid of...
Idahospud replied to *Lexie*'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ lexli, I am struggling with this my self and this very exact moment. I started my required 2 week liquid pre-op diet this morning and was feel very discouraged as I was prepping all the family meals and was INSANELY tempted to sample everything. I had a huge victory dance in my head at the end of dinner when I had "successfully won the battle" but as I am sitting typing I am still doing everything I possibly can to keep me AWAY from the fridge for those left overs. I would like to think that us having second thoughts are completely normal. We just have to have faith in ourselves that we CAN do this and we ARE doing this and that it will all be TOTALLY worth it 6 months from now. I am cheering you on girly -
Starting my liquid diet on Monday for a surgery date of 9/29 but I have been pondering that awful question for the last week! "Will this really work?" .... I have struggled with my weight my entire life and even though I have lost 37 lbs to date on the diet I am still asking myself that dreadful question several times a day. I have SEEN the results that this surgery can give to people from this site as well as family members but I still have so much doubt that I will get this procedure done, go through the life changing decisions, and see ZERO results. My brother, who has had the sleeve, tells me that it is not possible to fail at this but I am still sooooo scared that it is :/ Anyone else have these doubts???

Thank you everyone for the encouragement, I am such a doubter! I am going to definitely go thru with the surgery even with my doubts, but just wondered if I was going crazy lol @@Babbs, I am going with John Pennings in Post Falls -

PCP will not support my decision to go to Mx
Idahospud posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Went to see my PCP this week and he bluntly stated he "did not support (my) decision to go to Mexico and would not follow you after words or give orders for follow up blood work." I am at a loss!! When asked why he said that he "didn't think you need it at this point. Just cut your calories and walk a little more and you will be fine." Completely dumb founded and upset I left the office with no intentions of returned for any care there! Sitting at 363 pounds right now and can't possibly see why he can't support me Any advice would be wonderful!- 11 replies

PCP will not support my decision to go to Mx
Idahospud replied to Idahospud's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
To everyone that took the time to reply to thread, thank you! I have been offline for a bit but since my last post I have left this PCP office and went in search of a new one (have not found one) and also signed up in a program for self pay o VSG surgery! Since I am self pay I didn't have to have that PCP's referral anyway! So needless to say I am very happy and am on my way to VSG at the end of September Down 37 lbs so far and still going! EEEkkkkk -
PCP will not support my decision to go to Mx
Idahospud replied to Idahospud's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You are absolutely right, I am at rock bottom. I thought I "had it all figured out" and getting his approval was the last step.... well needless to say I feel like I am starting all over again. My insurance has a strict EXCLUSION for anything related to weight loss, so everything I do is out of pocket. Hell I feel confused as to where to start for another PCP ! Just so incrediably discouraged at this point. -
Newbie trying to choose a surgeon! :)
Idahospud posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hello all, I am new to this forum and trying to slowly figure everything out. I was hoping some of you would have some insight on the gastric sleeve in Mexico? Unfortunately my insurance will not cover anything related to obesity (no labs, nutritionist visit, follow up visits) so I am going to have to go to Mx to achieve my dream of hopefully getting thinner I'm thinking about going with Dr. Fernando Garcia due to my budget having to be under $5,000.... Does anyone have any thoughts? Input? Thanks in advance! -
Way to go girl!! Taking that big step wil all be worth it soon. Congrats on your new journey

Thank you so much for your input, I am going to continue researching and reading until I feel comfortable with choosing a specific doctor. Seems like such a life changing experience, but kind of a risky one at that. I know how badly I need this surgery and just want to make sure I get all my little ducky's in a row and make the best decision as possible.
