Need ideas; what should i tell my boss
SherB replied to snowkitten's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just told my boss it was personal and that I expected to be just fine. I guess if she wanted to know why she didn't ask. Even work friends I feel close to I said the same thing. Now when I start losing weight I would not lie if asked. I just don't want everyone expecting me to drop a boatload of weight in a month at work. -
All doctors are different. Actually the group of doctors in the office I go to all have different rules. Strange I know. I have no pre-op diet, some have 28 days of pre-op diet. I don't think anyone thinks they are right BUT if something is working for them, then I am glad to hear/read what they say. I have not had my surgery yet so I try to read and then I will see what works for me. If I don't agree with what someone posts I just don't comment. Saves me a lot of headaches. I hope you reconsider, support is needed by everyone. Have a great day!

July 7th is my surgery date!
SherB replied to hadderrie8's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dexter-No idea how you can drink protein drinks for 28 days pre-op. Yikes! My surgeon requires a 10% weight loss of the "total" amount you are overweight. I had to lose 14 pounds BUT I had 6 months to do it on my 6 month plan my insurance required. I lost that a few months ago so for the pre-op, on the day before the surgery I am to have a light breakfast and liquids the rest of the day. My doctor does not require any liquid diet, just the day before. I feel lucky for that although someone said it may be a good idea to do my own liquid diet for one week before. I may do that to get in the right mindset. Good luck! -
You guys are killing me... LOL! No Blizzards for you! =)

Queenie, I busted out laughing when I read that your doctors office is behind Dairy Queen! =)

In the same plaza as my HEALTH CLUB there is an In and Out burger, Chili's, Chipolte, Subway, New York Pizza Authority, Streets of NY, Village Inn, Paradise Bakery, Cold Stone Ice cream, Bosa donuts, Rubios, Del Taco, Jamba Juice, another pizza place and a McDonald's in Walmart. Talk about temptation. Geesh.. Walking out of the health club is torture. =)

Birthday Celebration at My House
SherB replied to Ria1202's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job! Any temptation removed from the house is a benefit. Keep up the good work! -
Never done it BUT I would be happy to be a "fat" donor. =)

July 2014 Sleevers FB Group
SherB replied to StawberryBlond's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to join too. Just in case you don't know, I went to the gastric sleeve FB page. Guess I was stupid. I had NO idea that when I posted on it that my friends on FB could see it. I guess I thought since it didn't show on my page nobody would know. I put that my surgery was on July 16th and my EX's cousin saw it. Dang...nothing is private, I really should have known that. Lesson learned. -
I think I might have said, yep cheated on my 200 diets all of my life, didn't help me a bit. =)

9 Months and 126 Pounds Lost - with pics
SherB replied to livvsmum's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Holy mackrel!! You lost 126 pounds in 9 months! That is fantastic. You look great. Can you give me any tips or things that helped you lose so much? My surgery is next month and if I could even do close to that I would be ecstatic! Best of luck to you! -
My daughter is not overweight but I feel like I constantly worry about it for her. I never talk about diets or weight loss or negative thoughts about my own weight. She is only 7 and trust me, they already talk about it in school. She has asked me several times if she is fat? Do her legs look too big. Her pants make her butt look big. I was shocked since I only tell her to eat healthy. Obviously she can see I am overweight but she would never say anything about it. Plus I am her main role model so that does not help any for me to try to get her to eat healthy and she can see I am not doing such a good job myself. I would hate for her to be overweight. I cannot wait to have my surgery. I hope I am not messing her up. =(

anyone familiar with Pure Protein bars?
SherB replied to morgan53's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had one for breakfast today. It was the chocolate deluxe. It was ok, and will work to fill you up for sure. Not super exciting but it got the job done. -
Your picture brought tears to my eyes. I too do the same thing with my 7 year old daughter. I really cannot wait to get a nice picture of us together. I only have two, one when she was 3 months and the other when she was 18 months. Congratulations, you both look beautiful!

Anyone going through True Results Houston?
SherB replied to christo5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance would not approve True Results, they said I had to use a medical group that has what they call a Circle of Excellence. True Results was not in that group. Not saying there is anything wrong with them but my insurance just said no. -
Are you allowed to drink your Gatorade with your meals? I am not supposed to drink 30 min before and after.

Hello, Yes I can relate. I lost over 100 pounds through diet and exercise several years back. I felt exactly the same way even though I knew I lost the weight I didn't feel any better. This is a skewed body image you have. I am guessing it is not too unusual. People that have not gone through it cannot understand. Really it is no different than an anorexic looking in the mirror and seeing an overweight person. One thing to try is to have someone video tape you, maybe hanging out with friends or family. Watch the video and you will be amazed. It may not take away the feelings but maybe you should consider some individual therapy. I am sure there are specialists in the area of body image. Best of luck to you and congratulations on your weight loss.

Caffeine withdraw can cause headaches. Not sure if that is the issue. I gave up caffeine 7 months ago but I did hear that if you have the surgery and are used to the caffeine that the headaches can be very intense. I hope you feel better soon, the vomiting would certainly be no fun. Best of luck for a "speedier" recovery.

Optifast 2 week Pre-Op diet
SherB replied to nmccarthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sooo glad my doctor does not require a pre-op diet. The only restriction is the day before surgery. Have a light Breakfast and then only liquids for the rest of the day. -
Fatty deposit lumps under skin
SherB replied to crazzeescrapper's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have them in my legs and they go away/get smaller when I lose weight. I noticed they were gone when I lost about 40 pounds a few years back. Of course they are back now. -
Congratulations! My surgery is next month, not sure why it scares me so much. Keep up the good work.
