SherB replied to BrwnsugabayB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! What insurance do you have and how long did they take to approve you? My ppk was sent out last Monday. Thanks! -
Right around the corner!! Congrats! I am waiting for insurance approval. I have United Health and they said they are around 3 weeks. It has only been 4 days! Patience, patience for me. =(

Pre-Op Diet while on business trips, meetings and family affairs
SherB replied to AlwaysLorri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor does not put you on a liquid only diet. She just requires you to lose 10% of your excess weight before surgery. I had 6 months to do it which was only 14 pounds. I am so "happy" she does not recommend the liquid diet pre op. -
I am getting the sleeve. I decided I wanted to leave my intestines alone so I didn't want the reroute. I also felt it was safer and less issues. Just my opinion.

Awaiting the results of the peer to peer meeting
SherB replied to star21nd's topic in Insurance & Financing
Right, I am sure the insurance company is a "peer" of your surgeons. LOL Hoops, hoops and more hoops. You would think your bmi might be enough? They just sent in my paperwork yesterday. I have United Health but you never know if they will have hoops of their own. Again..I hope for the best for you and that you get an "APPROVED" very soon! -

Hello, What is a peer to peer? What insurance company do you have? I hope it all works out for you. -
Gallbladder - Complication of Surgery
SherB replied to BookWorm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Must be common. My surgeon removes the gall bladder if you still have it on all of her patients. Mine is already removed. -
I have UHC, how do you submit to get them covered? Is this pre or post op? Thanks for any info you can give me.

Pre-surgery...I think i blew it... help?
SherB replied to JenryD's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just follow your plan and exercise before your next visit. Trust me, they know people are going to mess up. If we were so "good" at following diets would we be where we are now? Just be honest and move forward. Best of luck. -

SherB replied to NothingUpMySleeve's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

Thought It Was Time to Tell My Story
SherB replied to luckyyou0521's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations on your weight loss. I too lost my father this last year. My deepest sympathies to you for the loss of your father. I am in my 6th month of my supervised diet. I am scared to have the surgery. It is stories like yours that give me hope. Best of luck on your journey! -
Wow, that is super quick. Congratulations! I am in the last month of my 6 month doctor supervised program. I am getting excited. My ppk gets sent in on 5/2/14 to insurance. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope time flies for you!
