G'day all
I've been reading this forum for a couple of weeks after stumbling across it, it's a wealth of information which is great, but after reading some users comments and feelings of regret it's starting to make me second guess my decision. I go in for surgery on the 16 of April, so it's 8 days away at the time of this post. I've been managing quite well on the pre-op diet, having my 3 shakes a day with a snack on a carrot or something in between. My nutritionist gave me a list of approved foods which included diet cordial and jelly, so i have that occasionally too. It helps mix things up a bit. I'm definitely worried about post-op though. I'm a big tall lad and until now I've enjoyed big meals, with plenty of meat, or potatoes etc and it sounds like that's all about to change. While I know I need to lose weight for my health, I'm starting to wonder if I'm making a big mistake. Has anyone regretted their decision to get surgery, I can understand feelings of regret after a few days or even weeks, but say to those who are several months on, are you still regretting it?
I was unaware of some of the other difficulties post-op too, hair loss, not being able to sleep right (some people are saying weeks later they still can't sleep in their bed?), people who are still hungry when the surgery should have taken that feeling away. I'm assuming I'm just nervous and looking at only the negatives, but if anyone is able to offer some friendly words of advice to help me out, I would be in your debt
Cheers
