1. All went way better than I imagined it would from reading these posts. Thank you for the prayers. God was definitely listening . My only proble. Is peeing. I had todo a catheter twice now. Ugh! I will probably go home tonight It means so much that y'all were prAying.

Update; peed on my ow. Woohoo!

Yes!!! Glad to hear you are doing well and no more catheter :-)

  2. EmergingMissP were they able to do the lap band removal and the bypass in the same surgery? I see you are having some pain, hopefully it will subside soon. Just wondering, my surgeon is going to try to do both at the same time next Tuesday. Get well soon.

    @@jodie1961

yes, my surgeon was able to complete the surgery in one operation. My surgery lasted longer than normal due to a lot of scar tissue from the band(the most he had ever seen) which was apparently what was causing me to have issues all along. My pain has subsided however its still there but the doctor mentioned that this was due to the trauma my body had gone through with the Lap Band removal & RNY in one process. Today I am feeling great and have no regrets on this revision surgery wishing you the best next Tuesday good luck.

  3. Good morning everyone. One week post op (surgery was 4/28) and today is the first day I can actually say I feel good. In fact, physically, I feel better than good. Had my post op visit today and I'm down 18# since the middle of my two week post op diet. I was coming down with a cold day if surgery etc and didn't get weighed before or after. They removed my jp drainage tube which I'm so grateful.

Today my surgeon told me don't obsess so much over being exact with eating etc. Be conscious and make good choices but don't obsess (which I'm known for doing). He said I can gradually try soft foods and for me to listen to my body and if my body rejects things then purée and try to introduce something else in a few days.

@@WickedBeauty I am right there with you...woke up feeling better than I have in days. Glad you are doing well.

Just saw my surgeon and had my drain removed and was so glad to say goodbye to my little friend. I am officially down 17 lbs since I left the hospital and 2 lbs away from the completion of my pre-op diet. All I can say is that I am so glad I had this procedure done.

  4. To EmergingMissP, how did your appt go today? What did your dr say about your swelling is everything ok? Just a little worried about you.

Thank you @@TLawre2!! My appointment is scheduled for tomorrow morning, however, I called my surgeon's office this morning and left a message with the office manager. She then stated that she was on vacation, however, he would call me back. He called me back shortly thereafter...love my surgeon. He then stated that what I have been experiencing is normal and he would definitely check me out further when I came in. Since I have not experienced any vomiting, redness of the area or a temperature I should not be worried. Just lots of soreness on my left side which is due to the trauma my body went through during the surgery.

I have to remember that this was a major surgery and I need to chill and take time out to heal. I really appreciate you checking on me back means a lot. I'll be sure to update after tomorrow's appointment. I just hope I can proceed to the next stage and have some potatoes lol.

  5.
Well, I am up and getting ready for today. My surgery was moved up to 11:30 eek. Praying for those scheduled for today as well. I am hoping that they can complete the band removal and bypass in one surgery. So glad to finally be getting rid of this horrible band.

So excited for you! Praying for you & quick recovery:) I'll be there in a week from tomorrow , yay! Can't wait to hear from you.

Good Luck tomorrow...keeping you in my prayers. You will do great. See you on the post op side

  6. Come to think of it, how are everyone's incisions??

My incisions look good. Most are healed. 2 are still in the process. One has a lil ooze today but nothing major..2 are so small and healed you can barely see them

My incisions are healing well, however, did anyone have lots of swelling? I am 6 days post op and I gained 19lbs after surgery. My ankles are still very swollen as well as my belly but I notice the left side(muffin top) protrudes more than the right. I go to my follow up appointment Tuesday but just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

  7. How are you feeling today????? I pray that everything went well for you during your surgery and that you are healing well. Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am so nervous!!!!!

Thanks for asking. It was a rough couple of days and I made it back home yesterday evening. Things are getting better as the days go by. How are you doing? How did surgery go?

  8. I was finally discharged this afternoon. My surgeon was not comfortable letting me go yesterday since I was not getting in enough fluids. I have not had any hunger feelings so I have to keep reminding myself to drink some Protein or broth every hour or so. It is starting to get easier and I am glad to have the support I do. The biggest struggle I am having is with my sisters negative vibes but I know I did what's best for me.

Hope everyone is holding up well.

  9. Hello All, I am pre-op gastric bypass with surgery scheduled for April 29th. I have several boxes of Lindora Protein drinks and was wondering if anyone has used them to make Popsicles? Just thinking of other options to sipping to ensure I get in my Protein as I have been lurking and see it can be difficult. Thanks!

I pray that your surgery goes well. I have surgery on the 30th. God Bless!!!

    Thanks @@Improvingme!

Praying for you as well. You are not alone. Some of my closest family members are upset that I am taking these measures to live a healthier life. But you have to life for you. Good luck tomorrow and know you ha others that support you here.

  10. Well, this is it. I'm finally going to bed. Can't believe the time has come. Excited, nervous, and now second guessing myself although I know in my heart that this journey is very necessary. I'll post as much as possible as soon as I can. Praying for the remaining April preop team! May we all have safe, uneventful transitions to the post op side.

Praying everything goes well for you and all those scheduled for today. We'll be waiting to hear from you.

  11. Not quite May but close. I'll be revising from band to bypass on April 29th and I'm so nervous.

That's awesome! Are you on a liquid diet? And that's this week! Yay! How do I foot you? Haven't quite figured this out.

Yes, started liquids last week and it has been tough. The only thing keeping me sane is that I am in the middle of a home remodel and trying to pick out things to ensure most of the work can get done in my absence. I'll be staying with my parents for a week after surgery and my father will be playing project manager with the contractors. I friended you...I think that's what you meant ;-).

  12. So where are my 28th siblings? We have just 2 days left. My procedure is at 1 so this time Monday I will be in surgery. Praying for a easy, uncomplicated surgery for everyone & definitely a speedy recovery.

Present and accounted for....pending this cold doesn't take me down lol

I'm scheduled to arrive at 530am. I'm my surgeons first case at 730am.

Praying we all have seamless transitions to the post op side. Unremarkable recoveries with no complications or pain. Amen.

@@WickedBeauty oh no...hope you feel better prior to surgery. Will keep you in my prayers. Best of luck to you.
