Even my own trainer didn't make that kind of comment when I packed on 5 pounds!

    October 2015 Gastric Bypass

October 5 for me! I believe I will only have a week of pre-op liquid diet, but then another 1-2 weeks post-op liquid diet. I will know for sure on September 23. I am a revision from band to RNY. I was denied last year and just approved. Yahoo! I can't believe this is happening!
  4. @@JamieLogical I was ready to be an obese bride!
  5. Funny I was looking at it from a - "damn, am I going to be able to buy another dress within that time period?" way when I asked the question. I'm not worried about IF weight loss is going to happen. I know it will. I really wasn't expecting to be approved, or that I would even have the surgery this year. If I had, I would have waited to buy the dress.
  6. I posted this in the revision forum but I want to cast my net out wider... I was finally approved for a revision from band to bypass!!! I'm excited. EXCEPT...I'm getting married in December and I already have my dress (which is in the middle of being altered), I won't be able to eat (I probably won't want to anyway from the stress) and I'm afraid that I might be sick if I get it beforehand. The earliest is at the end of September, wedding date is December 5. Also, if I weight too long then I might lose my approval. My questions is, how long did it take after surgery for you to feel "normal" and not sick? Thoughts? (is this the right forum to post on?) Thank you!!
  7. I have my surgery date - 10/5 - wedding exactly 2 months after. How much weight do you think I could lose? What is possible? I know this is kind of a silly question

Men hitting on you when you are fat

It was a good post! I like what you had to say, big!
  9. As a veteran bander (banded in 2008) I would personally not get the band again. I feel that the band is not a permanent solution and now that it is not a popular surgery it will be harder to find a Dr. to service the band if you move. Please remember that the band is like owning an expensive sports car. There's a lot of tune up and maintenance involved. The band has worked for some tho. Also, if you have a reflux issue then sleeve isn't a good option, either. I will be having a revision to a bypass in early October.

    Surgery in September

Toasty, that was definitely an incomplete thought LOL Yes, I'm being revised from a band to a RNY.. I am getting married in December and I didn't know if I should wait until December or have it right away (in September). Decided that I'm not going to risk losing the approval and will have it in September. There is also the thought of forever losing my ability to eat what I want. The very thing that got me here in the first place. I remember grieving for food when I was banded and I'm sure it will even be worse with this new surgery. But I will move forward with this.

Men hitting on you when you are fat

Retro, there are men who LOVE big women...your curves are luscious and your bigness is very desirable to them. I found myself one of these men. And he fell in love with me, as a big women (I started the post "My man loves big women"). Just because society says that men should go after the women who look a certain way doesn't mean there aren't men who say "to hell" with society's standards. There are also some men who aren't ready to overtly acknowledge their love of the rounder woman so they stay in the closet watching big babes doing the nasty in porn (yes there are BBW porn stars - it is actually quite a popular.genre) and watch us from afar. Of course there are men who think big women are so desperate for attention that they are easy targets.. But I would wager a bet that most of those men were truly interested in meeting you.
  15. @@Mountaingal He agrees with you completely, The first thing he said to me when i walked through the door was to get it done. And not to wait. He knows how badly I've wanted it. I'm so excited!
  16. As soon as I walked through the door my finance said "Have it done as soon as possible! Don't wait!" So that is what I will do. I will have it in September. Wow, i can't believe its happening!

    Surgery in September

My Dr. wants to schedule me for the end of September. I'm still on the fence...
  18. @@Dream4tc Thank you! Was it hard to adjust after the surgery? Was it very emotional - having the surgery?
  19. @@snowkitten I remember suffering from postpartum depression after my daughter was born (this was 15 years ago!) and I was in some kind of weird fog for a long time. I'm wondering if there is a "hazy, fogginess" associated with the bypass?
  20. Yes I will look into it. But if its a matter of getting the surgery before my wedding or losing the appeal...well...I've got to go for the surgery! I think I'm concerned also for the emotional component of the surgery as well.

    Band Removal Approved; BYPASS DENIED!

Yes. But now we move to the next step. I will not give up, nor will the Lindstroms! So happy to have them in my corner. Without them I would not have pursued this--wouldn't have known I had the choice.maybe its the third time is a charm thing. I wouldn't give up either. I was prepared to contact the Lindstrom group if I wasn't approved.Congratulations! I am so very happy for you! Do you have a date yet? Not yet...I have to talk it over with my SO tonight. We are getting married in December and I'm a little worried about how the surgery might effect my wedding (or how I might feel at my wedding time)
