I am a 10cc band and have 4.5cc in it. I am scheduled for another fill in mid-March. I would get another fill. If it gets too tight the doctor can always take someout. Do you feel like you are at your sweet spot?
-
I hear about these things but don't really understand what they are or how it determined if you do have this problem? Are there any symptoms? Is caught under a fluoro?

30 pounds bythe end of May sounds like a reasonable goal, to me. You really don't start feeling any restriction until the 2nd-4th fill. i would reccommend to keep up on the routine your doctor says and exercise, exercise, exercise, that will keep you going and when you do finally hit the restriction the work will be easier.

Thanks Susan for the happy dance, you look so cute doing the happy dance!

How long did it take for you to lose your weight? My goal weight is 125-140. so I have around 70 more pounds to go.

No. I have had 4 fills and have never experienced a bad taste after a fill.

I know that there is a special scehdule to follow after a fill but really have not been told by surgeon what it is. I want to know what do I eat after a fill and for how long, ie...liquids for a week? 2nd week mushies? 3rd week start integrating meat and solids? Does anyone know??? Thanks for your help.

I went to Disneyland and decided to ride the rollercoasters! I was able to fit with extra belt left over on the restraints. I can fit in smaller underwear, I was in a size 9 I am now in a size 7. Tried on a pair of size 14 trousers and they fit.

I have tried soda and it DOES NOT agree with me. It causes gas in my stomach and pain in my esophagus. Do not and will not have soda again.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
caligal replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 4 months out and three fills later and have the VG 10cc band and am starting to feel restriction at 4.5cc. I can still eat more than a cup of food at each setting though but I do experience slime if I eat too fast or too much. Hopefully I will hit that sweet spot soon. -
I have been having this bulging feeling in my throat as if something is stuck in there. I even wake up in the morning with this feeling. What could this possibly be? Also my 1st fill was December 19th. Now all of a sudden I am feeling so much restriction, I just experienced my first slime on Monday plus a PB. Why would all of a sudden would I start feeling like this? It seems as if my band has tightened even a month later and I haven't changed my eating habits either. Does anyone have any ideas why or have any suggestions? Thanks.

I have dropped two sizes, from a size 20 to a 16! Everyone at work noticed how petite I am. My boyfriend told me, "you are getting such a cute little body". :-) My feet have lost weight. My boobs are diminishing I was looking at old pics of me today and can't believe that it was actually me. I am able to go up 3 flights of stairs without getting winded My face is sooooo much thinner I cut my hair shorter than usual and it looks great! Should be in a size 14 by next month.

I have the ame feeling and it is driving me crazy. I hate that feeling. I was told by other banders that my band is too tight. They also have commented that they have a lot of restriction when they are about to start their monthly "Friend". -
I guess that the band is tight because TOM will be in town next week. I am suppose to have a fill on the 26th of this month. I'll go in to see the doctor but I might opt out on getting a fill. Thanks for your help

I am glad to hear that you have decided to have it replaced. I am sure that you will not regret it. Congratulations.

my lapband story -- its not pretty (long post, but please read)

In my opinion, I would find a good lawyer and sue your surgeon for negligence. There is no way in he** that I would pay for a band removal. If you find a lawyer, he will either take the case or not take the case. After he takes the case he will refer you to his doctors and get a second opinion. These doctors that the lawyers send people are specialists and they usually know what they are doing. This is the way I would go. Good luck and sorry to hear about your misfortune. -
Since my lapband surgery in Spetember 07, I have had 3 fills. I am wondering why you haven't had more fills.

You will lose weight, and you probably have and don't notice it. After the surgery, your stomach is very swollen from the trauma that it had just experienced. Stay on your liquids and make sure you get 60-70gms of protein a day. -
I am thinking that the protein shake expands once it hits a certain temperature. I would not heat my protein. I know with the unjury chicken broth, the instructions say to use very warm water. I noticed when I use boiling water, the protein curdles. Yikes!!! Try to stay away from hot protein.
