Hi French vanilla...Sorry it took so long to respond, never saw that I had a message.

Not to be alarmed, it is normal to feel what you are feeling.

The (substitute) surgeon didn't buy that either. I don't know what I can say, that's the way it is...

No, I don't think there is such a thing....But! when I get a fill, I don't feel the effect for quite some time (3-5 weeks later). I am now at 6 weeks since my last fill and I am so tight I can't stand it. I think it is so wierd to feel the tightness of the band so much later than when I had the fill. Does anyone have the same problem? If so, had you spoken with the doctor about it and ask him/her why this happens? Would love to know if anyone out there has experienced the same thing. Thanks. Teresa

Had fill in June but my band keeps getting tighter?
caligal replied to Joaquin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have the same problem; I hate it. I don't know if to fill or unfill. It's absolute madness. I know I can't handle this tightness, I am eating all the wrong foods. I need my protein/veggies and fruits. Today I see the surgeon and am asling him to take .75cc's maybe I can get back on track. ~Teresa -
I had a revision on a flipped port, too. Went in for surgery under general anesthesia. Was in a little pain, stayed home for a week. The fill before, I was in a lot of pain for several days and then went in 6 weeks later to get a fill. I had no idea that I had a flipped port until the doctor told me I did because he couldn't access the port to give me a fill.

You really need to stay away from food like that. It's going to get stuck and you'll end up vomiting, which in return COULD cause port or band problems. This is really important get that junk out of your house and go for a walk. Stop sabotaging yourself.

Yes, this is what they call restriction. In my experience, I could never eat scrambled eggs. I can eat runny poached eggs but that's it. It is time for you to take pea size bites and chew, chew, chew. I know how that pain in the chest feels, it is HORRIBLE. Stay on your water and liquids for 2-4 days. Broths, pudding, protein shakes, liquid food that is nutritious.

Dr.Quiroz is an excellent plastic surgeon. I know a woman who had surgery by him, she is the leader of our support group. She is on the front page of his brochure and has a BARBIE doll figure. Their are also numerous women from the support group whom have had full body lifts by him. I have seen his work and he does an excellent job.

Linda, I was banded 09/07/07. I now have 6.5cc's in my band. Why is your doctor being so (tight) on the fills? Does your surgeon have an associate that can give you a fill instead? Even with a small fill, you are doing great.

I had my port flip and had to have surgery again. My doctor gave me general anesthesia and replaced my port. Then, he sewed the port and tube tighter into the abdominal wall. My insurance paid for everything.

Put me down for 37 pounds, since 09/07/07. Teresa (caligal)

I had lapband 6 months ago. Ever since then, I have had No acid reflux, no heart burn. All of a sudden, 2 days ago I have terrible heartburn and right now, my back is in so much pain. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this??? Thanks, Teresa
-
Since I had never experienced this before from the beginning of my surgery, I was wondering if other lapbanders get heartburn.

I had my surgery 09/07/07. I weighed 221 @ surgery date. I now weigh 189. That equals 32 pounds. The surgeon says that I am right on target for weight loss. I think that you are doing great, keep up the good work!

Hi Bad andy. Hopefully we can get this string started again. It sure would be nice to date someone that has gone through the same thing as we have. -Teresa

I met a girl this weekend that said that if the food trickles down, my band is not tight enough, even if the food gets stuck. She also said that I should get my band tighter so that I wouldn't get that horrible stuck feeling; I would just know when to stop eating. Another woman said that if food gets stuck and/or trickles down I am too tight and should get an unfill. This Wedensday, I have an appointment for another fill. Right now on my journey, I am at what they would say that my food sometimes gets stuck. I feel the horrible "Stuck" pain in my esophagus but its once in a while. I would like to see everyone's opinion on what they think. Thanks.

Plastic Surgery Terms for Weight Loss Patients
caligal replied to New Hope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
A body lift does not lift your thighs. That is a whole totally different procedure. I have a friedn that had RNY have a thigh lift and she said it is the most painful procedure she had ever had. She has had several plastic surgery procedures. Total body lift Breast reduction/breast lift/augmentation face lift Brazilian butt lift and liposuction in areas that couldn't be cut. The thigh lift is the worse!@!! -
If you are just right, you will feeel as if you have to let out a big belch! At least that is how I felt. If you are over filled you won't be able to drink that water and if you can, it will go down real slow almost like a stopped up drain. As for fills: My surgeon was the same way with my fills. He said, "you don't want to be too agressive too soon". Now I know why. Believe me you don't want everything you eat to get stuck, because it hurts immensely! And the pain doesn't last for a minute or so, it lasts a good 20-45 minutes! Yikes! it really hurts.! I have now learned that Papaya Enzymes are THIS bandsters good friend.

I am an overeater. Now that I have the band, when I get full that's it! I can't eat another thing or the food gets stuck, I PB or I slime really bad. So.... I am still learning when enough is enough.
