First Day Bak To Work After Being Banded

--------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, I went back to work on the 13th, and all went well. Most of my co-worker with the exception of 3 people think I had gallbladder surgery removal. Since the diet after a gallbladder removal is similar, it is easier for me to pass off the liquid stages, etc. For food, I took a protein shake, a small can of broth, and SF jello both days. I'm not looking forward to next week...we having two major food days/parties and I know I will not be able to join in on the activity, as I normally do, which will be a true test for me. However, I can begin my mushie stage next week. I find I do better at home then at work. However, my co-workers who all think I had gall bladder removal keep me on track by asking what I'm eating so that I do not fall off the wagon. So hopefully next week I will continue to receive the same encouragement! I hope all goes well for you next week! P.S. I try to get up from my seat every other hour and go to another location and walk at least 5 minutes. This will help you if you have a job where you sit down all day. (I use to sit at my desk for hours straight).

    Arizona lap-band surgeons

I was just banded last week and my doctor was Dr. Simon. I was referred to him by co-workers. I know a total of 3 people who have used his services, and all really have great reviews about him and like the results. It took me a total about 6 months to make a decision and once I did, the entire process from start to finish took me about 4 months (initial consulation to surgery date). From insurance approval, he can usually perform surgery within a month. His program director had gastric bypass a few years ago and was able to provide a lot of information (from her personal experience and experience of other people and research). For the most part I'm satisfied with the service. The only downside is that he only performs the surgery at Paradise Valley Hospital, which a little ways from me (Everyone else I know had a choice of hositpals to go to). However, his pratice is in Central Phoenix. If you would like to know additional information please let me know! Good Luck and Congratulations!

    Numbness of tougue...

Thank you for violeteyes. Have you begun talking your Iron yet? Update: The numbness is slightly disappearing. I had my first follow up on Teusday and my doctor told me I was first case he seen like this. I told him I will call him in a couple of weeks if it does not disappear. I will keep you posted.
  4. Hello Group, I had my surgery on 09/04/07 and after my surgery the tip and upper portion of my tougue has been numb. The Doctor said it should wear off in the couple days following the surgery, yet, it is a week later and I still have the numbness. He said it is anesthesia side effect. My question...has anyone experience this same side effect? If so, how long did it last? :help: So far all has went for me...the only other side effect I have is the gas, especially in the left shoulder - chest area. And I'm really bloated... Also, I just found this site the other day and let just say it has became a really good friend/support system for me!!! Keep up the thread posting! P.S. I think I ready for other liquid beside clear...what's a girl to do???

    Liquid Vitamins ????

--------------------------------------------------------------------- Wanted to say congratulation on making this important move! Also, I was advise that the only over the counter pain killer that should be taken is Tylenol 7-10 before and after surgery. Double check with your surgeon if Advil and okay.
  6. I was in the same boat. They will give you an extra long pad to wear during the surgery without underwear. Unfortunately, you cannot wear a tampon. I just made sure I had my own supplies for after the surgery. It was not as bad as I thought it would be... Congratulations and you will be fine!
