I went for the pre-testing yesterday and everything is a go for the 23 of Jan. I went shopping for food today and got most of what I will be able to have afterwards...it looks like a lot of food lol...but it wasn't bad just seemed like I went to the food store for the first time...had to look and search for the right things to have in the house...Had a friend go with me to check everything (she also had bypass)I am being banded....we don't have pre op diet...but I am following the one in my Bible (book given to us yesterday) class This way I will be ready for it...doing as told I called Holland and checked with them there about the chewable Vit. I found and everything was good! Doing the breathing exercises. Now all I need to do is my homework from my night classesMy teachers are great and very understanding about my surgery. Willing to work with me I should only miss a week of classes (maybe only one class)I want to be in class I have 5 days between surgery and the next set of classes...any suggestions on how to relax? I am scared but excited...~WhirlWinds~

Hello pikedafoe! Where in MI? I am 45 min.s north west of Grand Rapids(Newaygo). I hope everything goes GREAT for you:biggrin1:...Be sure to let us know how it goes. I am going to be 48 years old on Feb. 10th! I feel excited but scared too. Do you feel that way also? When I went to my first visit : 8/30/07 Weight : 224 lbs, Height: 5'21/2" I since then joined a gym and exercised three days a week and went down to: Docs visit 1/3/08 213 lbs In September 07 I threw out all the foods in my house and thus replaced everything with better choices! Went to a meat Farm and ordered all new Beef and Pork along with deboned chicken breasts (no skin either) I also ordered my protien drink mix (vanilla ice cream) from GNC along with vitamins(womens ultra mega multi)I add strawberries to the protien shake(blender)and use V-8 Fusion Lite to mix it I really like it alot! I got the call yesterday!:clap2: I go in for pre-testing on the 9th and then surgery on Jan. 23, 2008!:whoo: I am so excited and happy that the day is coming soon...I am in Newaygo, Michigan..a tad nervous and scared...but excited nevertheless.... 8/30/07: 224 lbs when started 11/25/07: 215 lbs with exercising and diet change 1/3/08: 213 lbs after hurting back goal weight: 125 lbs...

<p>I just got my surgery date!! 1/23/08 I go next Wednesday 1/9/08 for pre-testing!!! Hurrah! My insurance covers everything except for a $100 deductible...I am so happy!!!</p> weight when started 224 weight now 213 goal weight 125

Hello I am also New here.:clap: I am doing the dr. letter and psy. evail. stage...I am hoping for a Dec. 8 - Jan. 7 which is College break for me...:eek: I am 47 and am in college for accounting...My height is 5'3 and weight is 224 lbs....my goal is to reach 125 lbs. I know this will take time and alot of hard work on my part...as Dr. Schram said this is just a helpping tool we still have to do all the work! Oh I live in MI also, Newaygo .... Have a Great Day!
