All In August 2014!
pions9815 replied to Roostertail2's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hang in there roostertail2! Everything you have done has not been for nothing! It will get better! Just have faith and those numbers are going to start to go down, are you weighing daily? That's a mistake I made on the pre-op diet. I understand your frustration but I think it's still a little early and your body is still healing. Hang in there!!! -

Dr garza and his staff are amazing! The nursing staff is fantastic, I couldn't have asked for better care from the morning of surgery to discharge. The rooms were nice and I would have loved to have been able to check out the shower, it has a rain drop head in it if you have any questions about his staff or him or hospital stay let me know!! I just got to go home yesterday new tummy and all!! -

Well I am going into post op day three (surgery was Monday) and things have been getting better, Monday they had me on dilaudid for my Pca and it seemed to make things way worse so I stopped taking it Monday night and went without pain meds for about 6-8 hours until my swallow study came back okay. Since being on oral pain meds things have been good, I got to go home yesterday afternoon the only pain now is the open incision on my abdomen that is packed with gauze. I have been having loose stool and am wondering if anyone else experienced this as well. -

I'm scheduled for the same day and on day 4 of the liquid diet, only broth protein shakes sugar free Jello and popsicles, i have been loving vegie broth and sugar free bomb pops but am constantly hungry, its to the point that I just gave up on the huger and have been ignoring it. -

I know, they are only at a few grocery stores. I found mine at one nearby and bought three boxes of them -
definitely depends on your doctor, I have been noticing that with the pre-op diet as well. Some are allowed certain foods, some are pre-op diet for a few days to a few weeks, some can only have liquids and some don't have a pre-op diet at all. The variations are endless hang in there though! If you need any encouragement I am here

Mine sounds awful compared to all of yours lol I can have 5 Atkins shakes a day, broth, sugar free jello and popsicles for 14 days... I am on day three and hungry I just have been taking it a day at a time, sugar free bomb pops are awesome versus the sugar free popsicles

Good morning Ladies!!! I am now on day three of the liquid diet and down 3 pounds already My surgery is on the 18th so I am on a long liquid schedule. I have been living off of sugar free bomb pops though Yummy! So much tastier than the regular sugar free popsicles. I do have to see my surgeon for a second pre-op visit to discuss getting my gallbladder removed with surgery and then my cardiac stress test Friday. I did find out surgery was approved in only 2 days from my insurance! So I am thrilled about that -

My surgery is scheduled for 7:30 am on August 18th So excited/nervous but ready to go! The pre-op time has sped past! I began with a referral in Feb 2014 and got my first visit in March 2014. I still have a HIDA scan to complete tomorrow so I can get this gallbladder out and then an unexpected stress test added to the mix on the 8th. Wish me luck nothing holds surgery up!! -

Hi all! I am scheduled for August 18th Time has been moving so fast now! My only hiccup so far is an abnormal EKG probably due to the phentermine I took about months ago. I have a HIDA scan tomorrow and Stress Test Aug 8th So excited for surgery, a little nervous being the patient though. -

Awesome! I see you had Sr. Garza as well! How did everything go? -
Anyone date prior to surgery? My surgery is in August and I am itching to get back out there. If you did date prior to surgery, did you tell them right away about the surgery or wait? I have joined an online site and was debating telling them through chats so that I can weed out the one's that would be opposed.
