Happy Father's Day! 2014
Kelly Gonzalez replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Happy fathers day Alex! -
You seem to notice all the advertisements more when you do the liquid diet pre-op, and then post-op. I never thought much about them till then, and also all the billboards, then all the fast food restaurants, and restaurants in general. Everything seems to stand out more, funny I suppose, but that's what it's intended for. Glad you posted about this, thought it was just me, lol..

Confused about what to bring to hospital
Kelly Gonzalez replied to thesuse2000's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just bring yourself, and a phone, and toiletries, that's basically all you need. I brought a change of clothes, new nightie, ended up staying in the hospital gown, you won't feel up to much for the first few days anyway, and I didn't even feel much like talking, just took the meds, and slept, did what I had to do, and went home. Good luck, and bless you! -
Pre-OP EGD Hiatal Hernia QUESTION & FUNNY thing my husband said at CHURCH HAHAHAHA!
Kelly Gonzalez replied to cindyvirden.com's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know some doctors fix the hernia during the surgery, mine wouldn't because my bowels, and intestines broke through my stomach lining, and ripped my stomach muscle in half, causing my bowels, and intestines to just keep growing. He will fix the hernia when I reach the plateau of 18 months, so he can put everything into a mesh bag. I guess it depends on how bad the hernia is. Good luck! -
VSG success-vets, how do you stop losing weight?
Kelly Gonzalez replied to Dr-Patient's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
(I'm only 10 weeks, but I have a really bad hernia that the surgeon won't repair until weight loss stops, he told me that the plateau is 18 months, and the weight loss ends, hope this is helpful. -
Pain after 4 weeks
Kelly Gonzalez replied to jennicabre's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had bad pain in the center of my chest a week out (now 10 weeks) and was scared cause I started googling leaks, it was a Sunday, but I made an emergency call to my surgeon, he said it was normal, had the pain for about another week after, and it finally went away. Good luck! -
How long before you could eat popcorn again?
Kelly Gonzalez replied to TonyaNKy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 2 months, and I had popcorn the other day, with no problem, but also didn't eat a lot, but as everyone is saying it's what your sleeve allows. I also have a big problem with chicken, my sleeve just doesn't want it. It's basically a hit,or miss. Good luck! -
Pre-op protein shakes, liquid diet. You will lose.

So anybody else want to do bodily harm to their psych?
Kelly Gonzalez replied to Ginger Snaps's topic in Rants & Raves
i navigated everything away from the hospital I had the surgery done, and YES, every time something was faxed, it wasn't faxed, and it was all different doctors, so fax was coming from different machines. Finally I had enough and when ever I had anything done I would tell them to fax a copy, and hand me a copy so I could personally deliver. Worked for me. Good luck! -
Loved the reading, and made me chuckle. I'm sure we will all have times where we will go through the similar. You had me wondering "will she, no not in the middle of the airport, but wait it should be right on top, and who would know if she walks away with it, and opens some where else. So does she? Ah, she didn't, good for her." Lol. Thanks!

Oh YEA, more so then ever. It's like getting pleasure just by looking, haha.

It's like the "Kardashian" thing. Why do you click on it? Why do you care? Leave people be. Is it a freaking full moon somewhere? Maybe people want to hear what someone says to "THEM" Maybe for once they feel a part of something. Nobody's pushing at your fingers. Get a grip!

I Am So Angry When People Think Surgery Is The Easy Option!
Kelly Gonzalez replied to Tartan-Tiger's topic in Rants & Raves
Don't let them get to you, they can kiss my ass. Nobody has said anything to my face, and they had better not. Until you have experienced something, you really have no room to talk. There is absolutely nothing easy about this, and some have it very hard. As "Endless" said, I didn't risk my life for nothing, and my surgery was at the advice of 4 specialists in different fields, as a lot of people have the surgery for. Good luck, and good health for the future -

Home from the Hospital..One Day Out
Kelly Gonzalez replied to dharmawheel's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yea, I know exactly how you feel. It's not all peaches, and cream. When I woke up in recovery, I felt like someone had a chainsaw at my abdomen, I started screaming for them to put my stomach back. It was straight out of Chiller. Haha, All good now. -
Awww that has to be very hard. Hope you feel better soon!

Has anyone tried "rev" pre-made Wraps with 19 grams of protein?
Kelly Gonzalez replied to chsmith23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also looking at them, and started googling, and saw that these taste testers on YT said they are not that great. Think you can buy some ham, turkey, whatever cold cuts, and make a wrap with lettuce, and actually tastes really good. -
Food after surgery
Kelly Gonzalez replied to losingsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As everyone is saying (I'm 7 weeks, and on reg food) Everyone is different,m and what you tolerate one day, you may not be able to do the exact same thing tomorrow., but then may be able to do it the third day. Your sleeve will let you know exactly what you can, and cannot do. At least in the early stages, not that far along, so the "elders" on the group can give better advice, but good luck with all! -
Sorry for your husbands loss. I think you should go ahead with it.You are here, and you have to think of your own health. Good luck, and blessings on your decision.

Friend said she's disappointed
Kelly Gonzalez replied to beme2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't understand how people that haven't had this surgery can even comment on it. Saying things like "it's the easy way out." There's nothing EASY about this, it's one of the hardest things I've ever done. I wish someone would say that to me, fight would be on like donkey kong. I think you handled this beautifully, because I couldn't, wouldn't have been so cool with it. I mean I see people posting that they are so happy with their sleeve, best thing they ever did, but it doesn't change the fact that this is a tool, like Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and it's still hard work, and their are people that have the sleeve that run into obstacles, but who knows what until you have it done. I wouldn't recommend this for everyone, but I wouldn't recommend Jenny Craig for everyone either. It's your life, it's your choice. Bless you! -
I'm 6 weeks, and on a regular diet. I eat mostly Greek yogurt, high in protein, and do 1 shake in the a.m. It takes forever to get the shake down, and think they pretty much gag everyone post-op from what I have seen. I can sometimes do a few bites of chicken, the next day won't be able to. I think it's pretty much the norm. I just make sure I get thee shake, and have a lot of yogurt on hand. Good luck,
-
Yea, you're so right, I could have cared less. Where ever you may be, let the gas go free, that was my motto, and I could have cared less who was around. It just felt great to get it out. Take care, and welcome to the sleeve world. Good luck on your journey.
-
Wow, I guess everyone's different. They made me do protein shakes, and water for 2 weeks pre-op. Well good luck on your journey!
