  4. Hello everyone, I haven't been banded yet, but am seriously considering it. One of my friends had it done a few months ago and she hasn't looked back since. This makes me think that this is the way to go, after all, when you have dieted non-stop for half your lifetime, do you really want to spend the rest of your life still dieting, stressing and being generally unhappy and depressed about your weight? I certainly do not. I have therefore made an appointment for this week with my gp, to discuss and hopefully be referred for the surgery, and start my life over. Briefly, this is my story. When I was 18 I was a slim size 8-10, weighing 9st 4lbs. Boys came along (as they do!) and contentment hit me. I started piling on the pounds and still haven't stopped. Three children later, and I am beginning to think that sooner rather than later is the way to go. Don't get me wrong, I had some success dieting, losing up to 3 1/2 stone with both slimming world and shapes, but I have just had enough. I can't carry on like this and feel as if I'm wasting my life, I want to live it and watch my children grow up. I have approximately 8-9 stone to lose. I know that it won't be easy with or without the band, but I am determined to give it a go. Does anyone have any regrets about having it done? Garnetgirl  x
