How often do you weigh yourself?
tanaproma replied to hrhlaurie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh myself once a week. -
Just sleeved on April 14th, now I'm home!
tanaproma replied to Mokamami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was sleeved on the 9th! So you and I, have a lot in common. I know pain is still kicking your ass right now, but don't worry, give it two more days and you're going to be surprised at your body's ability to heal. Congrats and welcome to the losers bench. -
There are so many of us that are quite literally dying to have something that satisfies us during the full liquid phase. For some people, the full liquid phase lasts about a week, but for most, it around two weeks. So I've been sitting at home, looking through my list of approved foods and I'm getting so sad. And then, I came up with a decent idea for a hearty Soup that satisfied my cravings of something more than chicken stock. So here are the things you'll need: - Cream of chicken/Cream of mushroom - Tomato Soup (not paste, SOUP) - Chicken Stock. ------------- Heat the stove up to high heat, pour in the chicken stock, wait till it simmers before adding cream of chicken. Mix it well until the cream of chicken and stock is completely bound together and the soup thickens a little. Then, add your tomato soup and keep mixing until you get a texture that satisfies how you want your soup. Once you see an even color distribute from the soup, it's done. For personal preferences, I let the soup settle and cook for about 10 minutes, so it's really hot and good and just so satisfying when you serve it! And for those of you who have unflavored Protein, feel free to add a few scoops in the soup (make sure that you add enough stock to even it out).

APRIL SLEEVERS: How much weight did you lose?
tanaproma replied to tanaproma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh yeah, I've got a few tips. Let me tell you how the seven days have gone for you. Day 1: You don't feel much of anything. You just got out of surgery, you're on drugs, you can't move. You're aware of everything but it's not easy to get out of bed. They have you on the morphine drip so you really don't realize the pain you're in, but you're aware of one thing -- and that is the gas pain. You don't even understand how bad that is. It sits on your chest and it feels like you can't breathe -- and honestly, it feels like you're going to get a heart attack any time. And honestly, it doesn't pass, but you do get used to it. Day 2: For me, it was the worst I ever felt. My stomach was really sore and I was in pain. The stitches hurt a lot, but the problem wasn't that. It was the exhaustion and my intense depression and regrets. I went through so much regret on that day. Wasn't a good day. That night -- my blood pressure sky rocketed. Day 3: This is the day I went home, but I didn't feel a 100%. I was relaxed, was able to get a bit of Water in. As much as I could, which was like two small cups. =/ Day 4: Goddamn! I felt amazing! My pain wasn't as excessive as it could be. I wasn't that sore. I did pretty much everything myself with little help. I drank two bottles of water, one Protein shake. Also the first day I was able to sleep on my side, which was like heaven for me. Walked about an hour and a half on the treadmill in ten minute intervals throughout the day. Day 5: Felt even better than the day before. This is the day I really started to marvel at the wonder of the human body and shit, it's so amazing how good I felt. I had two rounds of my Protein Shake (70g), 2 and a half bottles of water. Walked for a total of an hour and thirty minutes in ten minute intervals on the treadmill. Day 6: This was the first day of no sore, no pain, no bullshit. I felt like I had the day before going into surgery. I went to the salon, got my hair done. Then I went to the spa --- got a mani/pedi, + facial + eyebrow waxing. I felt pampered all around. <3 Day 7: I weighed myself in the morning and almost cried. Best day ever. -

How are the ones who got sleeved the first week in april?
tanaproma replied to Tammylb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you Jennifer2575 and waynerock! I'm a lot less sore today, I can walk without croching, so I feel like that's a huge plus! And I think getting in 5-6 ten minute sessions in the treadmill every day is a lot better than forcing myself to strain at the gym. The doctor told me I'm not allowed to do anything, besides walk, walk, and walk. <3 I do chores around the house too, so there's that. As far as food is going, some of you guys are SO lucky. I can only get in two Protein shakes and about three bottles of Water a day. Well, I can eat more if I try, but I don't like straining myself. Plus the Multivitamins, the gas meds, -- there's a lot of stuff to take before attempting to eat in between. So can someone answer me this? How often do you guys sip water? Every sixty seconds? Every five minutes? How does that work exactly? -
How are the ones who got sleeved the first week in april?
tanaproma replied to Tammylb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So,the thing is, I am getting my foods in okay. The Protein shake is hard for me, but two hours of hardwork, I can really get it down. oatmeal was a bit too much for me -- only because I didn't like the heaviness yet. Not because my stomach upset me. Believe it or not, gas isn't an issue anymore. I'm handling it extremely well, and farting a lot. >___< Much to my family's dismay. So I'm am not up to the walking you guys are getting in. I can only do about half a mile a day? I'm three days post op, so is that okay? I don't want to 'not live up to a standard'. I want to be like you guys, get as much workout as I can. The problem is, I'm sore, and when I walk around my stomach hurts like hell! Any ideas? -

tanaproma replied to Tammylb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Honestly, I was never the one for handling pain. Gas pain is terrible. Anyone have trouble with flem inside your throat? I swear to god, that's the thing that gets me. PHLEM. <3 But three days out of surgery -- (got sleeved on wednesday 9th) and I feel better than I thought I'd feel? I am very sore around my belly, it hurts to walk, but I try to walk as much as I can. <3 -
Anyone on liquid diet for 1 wk only post op?
tanaproma replied to re14768's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I'm two weeks on full liquids. Then pureed food, then maybe soft things. <3 -
Getting sleeved tomorrow <3
tanaproma replied to tanaproma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much! I'll be sure to remember that. I'm going to stick to liquids today. Should I take a laxitive? A safe liquid one, maybe? -
Surgery in 1 hour!
tanaproma replied to Jennifer2575's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please update to let us know how you're doing! -
So I'm nervous as all hell. Unlike most of you guys, I didn't have to do a pre-op diet. So I'm trying to figure out if that's bad or not... >__> But Jacobi is a center of excellence, so I should trust them right? My biggest concern is what I should eat today. I'm staying away from solids, just focusing on liquids and I'm feeling kind of great. <3 Can some of you guys share your experience?

Hang in there, okay?! Everything will be okay! You're almost at the finish line of getting out of the hospital, so don't even worry! -
I was told to stop eating after 12am. Surgery is in the morning!
