    gross stuff ahead

If you are taking iron that will cause your stool to be a dark green. It's a little alarming at first.
  2. I'm a month out and constipation has been my biggest issue. I tried Miralax & fiber. Milk of Magnesia is the only thing that works for me. It's pretty gentle but it may take two doses to get things moving. So frustrating!
  3. I had gastric bypass done on 6/24/14. Have any if you experienced anxiety or tearfulness after surgery? I think physically I am progressing well but my emotions are a mess. Sometimes I am so anxious I can't leave the house to even go walking. Has anyone else experienced this? I just feel so tired, overwhelmed, and ill equipped to handle all the changes taking place. I'd appreciate any insight anyone has as I'm feeling pretty sad & overwhelmed.

    Pain & constipation day 5

Thanks for the responses. I'm slowly getting a little stronger everyday. I really thought I'd do super and would be up walking miles per day instead of only making it up and down the street twice a day. Not to mention my crying outbursts. Will I ever feel "normal" again? I appreciate you all more than you'll ever know!
  5. I everyone! I had gastric bypass surgery on 6/24/14. That night at the hospital I was awake all night crying in horrible pain from the gas used during surgery. It felt like all of my insides were cramping in knots. This continued until today...now just smaller cramps. I have not had a bowel movement despite dulcolax (given in hospital), two days using miralax, and resorting to prune juice. Has anyone else experienced this pain & constipation. I've tried to walk but I'm so weak & in so much pain I can't make it outside the house. When I read the boards i'm really depressed because everyone reports feeling great on day 2 or 3. Is it just me? I'm feeling like I've made the worst mistake of my life. Will this ever get better?
  6. Hi! I'm Katie. I'm currently going through all the pre-op work up but hopefully will have my surgery soon. I live in Middletown. I'd love to get to know people who are also on this journey. It's taken me years to get up the nerve to do this, but I'm only 39 & hope this will give me the health benefits to be around for a long time.
