You can always get some unflavored protein mix to put in with anything you eat. Scrambled eggs, soups, cottage cheese, etc. This was recommended by my nutritionist. Or if you are having sugar free pudding you can always add a vanilla protein powder.

I'm still pre-op and haven't discuss the prilisec yet with my surgeon, but my friend takes it daily with her sleeve. I've never had heartburn, ever... is this something that everyone needs to take after surgery?

QUESTION: If U had gastric bypass & U had 2 do all over again verses the SLEEVE would U?
HYCIERRA replied to cindyvirden.com's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
For me, I wanted to do this one time and one time only. I have a sweet tooth and per my surgeon, gastric bypass would best suit my needs. I honestly believe i need a detergent, such as dumping, to keep me in check. I'm great at losing weight, my issues are portion size and maintaining. Both of which i feel i have a better chance of being successful at with gastric bypass -

You have totally found your style! You look amazing! Details about your loss... any cravings, what triggers do you have? Any secrets to staying focused? How close to goal are you in six months?I have my surgery in July and I'm trying to be as prepared as possible for everything. I can't wait to look as fantastic ad you do! -
we have united healthcare insurance, if we go to a center of excellence, it pays 100%- yay- but I have a question about the guidelines- like most insurance companies, they require a 6 month physician supervised diet. I've seen my OB/gym (as my primary dr) for the past 7 years. He filled out the supervision form inputting the last 6 appointments I've had with him (non-consecutive, but all in the past 2 years)- he stated that we discussed weight issues/exercise. Do you think this will be enough to satisfy that 6 month requirement or do you think I'll need to start the 6 month process all over again? I'm meeting with the surgeon tomorrow, so my paperwork hasn't been sent to the insurance company as of yet- I have a 46+ BMI, monitored for high blood pressure (no meds), lower back issues, depression due to self image, high cholesterol... I am so ready for this that waiting another 6 months seems like an eternity.

Pancake, thank you for the reply. How did the revision go and how are you liking your sleeve? I just got the call this past Friday that UHC approved me!! They just accepted my dr's notes from the past few years, so I didn't have to do 6 months supervision! I'm having my ultrasound and pulmonologist appointment on 6/17 and then I'll get my surgery date. So excited I can believe everything is falling into place finally!! -

I know this is a clothing swap page, which I totally think is awesome, but I too only have the larger sizes at this time. Question...I'm close to Arlington heights and Paletine...who was your surgeon? Are there any local support groups on the area? I don't have my surgery date yet, finishing up the pulm. Dr and nutrition education... curious who you used and your experiences -
You look amazing! So, we know all if this isn't just from the surgery...what are your secrets? I'm currently waiting for my surgery date, what should I start doing today that will help me achieve your results? exercise routine? food aversions? Tips?? Again, you look amazing!
