Today is my third day post-op. On the day of surgery I was in surgery by 8am and I don't remember much until about 1pm when I was already in my room. Anesthesia really knocks me out as well as the morphine. I was so out of it that during my first two walks the nurse kept telling me to open my eyes and to wake up. After that I stopped pressing the morphine button because it made it so hard for me to wake up and walk. After walking I would get pain in my shoulder so I would get the hot compress and it helped so much. The only part that really hurt was getting in and out of the bed it made the whole left side of my belly hurt like hell. Throughout the night I was walking every 2 hours on the dot. The nurses were not playing when they said every two hours. The next morning I was told I had an appointment for an upper GI (swallowing test). I was dreading drinking the liquid but I didn't dwell on it because I knew it was my ticket out of there. Finally around 10:30 was my turn and the liquid was horrible but you only have to drink about a medicine cup full of it in three shots while they take pictures of the process and check for leaks. Once I was done the doctor came to see me. He was a bit concerned because I looked really pale. I told him that I usually get like that after anesthesia. He sent for some blood tests and some lunch and if both were fine I could go home. Blood work was fine and I was able to keep down the lunch so I was sent home around 3pm. The pain so far has been manageable and I only really hurt on my left side of my belly. Once I feel better I will weigh myself and post the statistics so far. Good luck to all April sleevers. We can do this!!!

little worried
daisy2356 replied to Madelyne Bonthron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm worried also I'm only on my 6th day post op and I can take in a whole cup of chicken broth slowly if course because it is still uncomfortable to swallow but when I'm done I don't feel full. I don't feel hungry either but shouldn't I feel some type of fullness or tightness. I also have not thrown up or even gotten nauseous after eating so I'm wondering if my sleeve is doing anything? -
How are the ones who got sleeved the first week in april?
daisy2356 replied to Tammylb's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on Tuesday the 8th and home by Wednesday. Haven't really had problems with nauseousness which I thank God for because that is one thing that really freaks me out. I have had really bad pain on my left side of my stomach which I was told was normal because that's where they do most of the work. It was strange because my right side didn't hurt at all. Pain meds have really taken care of the pain and knock me out so sleeping has been ok. Yesterday had the misfortune of reading a person's story who had very bad complications 15 days post op and it freaked me out and made me start imagining that I had all her symptoms then just when I began to tell myself you are doing ok I began having like the beginning of a Charlie horse pain on my left calf and because of that began to think I have a blood clot on my leg. Needless to say I am freaking out and watching myself and any ache or pain closely. Also so far the worst thing about the recovery is not being able to eat anything but clear liquids. It sucks!!..and I won't see my doctor until 2 weeks post op because he is on vacation. I'm thinking of advancing to full liquids 1 week post op. I'm also having trouble getting 64oz of liquids and any protein. -
@@Jennifer2575, I'm doing ok. Still having pain on my left side. Gas is still highly uncomfortable at times. When eating my stomach has tolerated everything ok but certain things (cold things) hurt as they go down my chest and that bubble feeling when the food reaches the stomach is weird and uncomfortable. How are you doing?

My surgery was on April 8th. It went pretty smoothly for the most part. Walking and a hot compress where my best friends in dealing with gas pain. Had some incision pain on my left side every time I tried to get up from bed or lay back down... The pain meds helped with that and today the pain was a lot less. Good luck to all with your journey and keep us posted about your progress.

We have to keep in touch I also have a 2 year old and I just keep thinking to myself God just let me come back to him. He's the reason I'm nervous. Funny thing is he is a big part of the reason why I'm doing this so it's a double edge sword. I'll be praying and sending good thoughts your way on Tuesday -
@ jennifer2575 my surgery is on the same day as yours.... Good luck to us on Tuesday!!

I go in Tuesday morning and I'm ready to get it over with but also nervous. The worst part is that this pre-op diet is getting to me today. I feel tired and sad.
