  1. Good luck in getting the trouble resolved! Just a suggestion... if another bariatric surgery is recommended, get a 2nd opinion.

    my journey - down 103lbs

Have you considered going to a therapist? I had two miscarriages and it was very difficult to move on. Best wishes!
  3. Taking it out sooner rather than later sounds like a good plan. I had my gallbladder out-- felt minimal, if any, pain. Then it's done.
  4. Welcome! I think it would be a good idea to call your doctor.

    Post op vitamins

My NUT recommends taking 2 Flintstones Complete chewables per day as well as additional calcium CITRATE (i.e., Citracal - need 1000 - 1200iu/day). It is helpful for absorption to take iron and Vitamin C together. It is not helpful to take iron and calcium together because they go against each other. For Vitamin D, the safe upper limit is 4,000/day.

    unusual sign of fullness!

Too bad the gas can't plump them up a bit!
  9. I agree with @@4me4them and@@BitterSweet*! My husband was very leery until he came with me to the surgeon's presentation. Then he understood that the sleeve was a safe surgery and the hospital was a Center of Excellence. After that, he's been very supportive. One issue may very well be insecurity about your relationship if you get thinner and he stays heavy. Who knows? You may be a model for him to follow and he may decide to get the surgery himself!
  10. Forgot to mention, please research the pro's & cons of plication. My understanding is that the plication adds risk.
  11. The surgery won't fix the "head game"-- eating to control emotions. If you don't, you may re-gain the weight after surgery. I suggest these books: 1) by Cynthia Alexander, "Emotional First + Aid" (the bariatric one) and 2) "From the First Bite" by Kay Sheppard. It would probably be very helpful to go to therapy to deal with the loneliness and sadness... not a fun way to live!

    Still Gobbling Food

If you think there is an emotional component to this, one book has helped me a lot: "Emotional First + Aid" (the bariatric one) by Cynthia Alexander. Best wishes!

    worries

My favorite book is by Cynthia Alexander, "The Emotional First + Aid Kit" (the bariatric one). It helped me recognize common situations in which I fell short and brought food home that I had trouble staying away from & lots of other helpful advice.

I think I over did it.

I suggest using a small amount of flax seeds mixed into your food.

Don't give up on your best friend too quickly!... she is probably afraid for you and doesn't know about all the advances in bariatric surgery. Most people don't. Could she go to a hospital seminar with you?

  24. Don't think that, just because you are pregnant, you have to gain weight. I had gestational diabetes and saw an endocrinologist. Their nutritionist set up a diabetic diet eating plan so that I would lose 2lbs/week (2000 calories). I stuck to it like glue. I figured that, if I messed up, my daughter would die. Nothing I could eat would be worth that! Anyway, I lost 25 lbs. during that pregnancy and 25lbs with the next one, eating very healthy balanced meals. I'm being honest, I was ready to EAT THE TABLE! But it CAN BE DONE. Best of luck.
  25. Congrats on losing 120lbs! That's a tremendous amount! You've probably saved your own life... AND you look so happy. That's terrific!
