You could put your weights on an Excel spreadsheet & do a graph of them.

And So Our Journey Begins...
BeagleLover replied to MistyAnnMoon829's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations! -
@@JamieLogical I totally agree with you, being heavy IS a burden--- and you're 35! Carrying all that weight as you age gets worse and worse, with potential serious co-morbidities-- diabetes, heart problems, joint probems/replacements, sleep apnea to name a few. One of my doctors told me that my excess weight (BMI of 38) would take 10 years off my life! People's bodies just work differently. I fully support you in your wanting to get your husband on board. Having said that, it sounds as though you are having some trouble with emotional eating. Many of us are or have been in this boat. This book really helped me: "Emotional First + Aid" by Cynthia Alexander (the bariatric one). Best wishes and hope everything gets resolved and let us know how it goes.

Protein and supplements
BeagleLover replied to Diana2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your goal should be at least 60 grams of Protein (for women) per day. That being said, many on this site have said it takes a while to get there. 100% Protein isolate is the ideal because they are the most absorbable. You'll see a lot with protein concentrate, or different kinds of protein combinations. Some you may not absorb at all. Do a search on this site for those that do you no good. Some brands that come to mind for being made of protein isolate and good taste are unjury, Isopure and Syntrax nectar [There is a current sale on samples.]. My NUT recommended BariatricAdvantage, or using their ingredients list to compare which other Vitamins you are considering. -
Congratulations! The time will be here before you know it!

@@slvrsax Nah, you haven't been wasting your time! Kim Kardashian is going to be jealous of YOU!

This book helped me a lot-- not saying I'm totally "cured" of impulsive eating, but I've stopped most of it and don't feel like I'm struggling: Cynthia Alexander "Emotional First + Aid" (the bariatric one).

It's great that you recognize that you need to tighten up your eating. Just want to remind you that it is normal for your weight to increase a little at about this far out from surgery.

I took 2 Flintstone gummies and a liquid b12 post op ...now I take the gummies.. super bcomplex pill..l lysine pill ..magnesium ..that was my preop mix for bipolar ,anxiety, and depression ..i just recently started back My NUT advises against the gummies. She does recommend Flintstones Complete chewables. I suggest you compare the labels to check the differences.

My NUT recommended Flintstones Complete chewable vitamins.

You can get plain non-fat or low-fat yogurt without anything in it, then add Sweet N' Low and, if you want, sugar-free preserves or jelly.

7 Days out and struggling
BeagleLover replied to SherB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. Sometimes people are very uncomfortable with the gas that was pumped in to allow the surgeon to have space to have the surgery. Walking a lot helps get rid of it. I hope you have some pain meds too. -

I suggest you search on this site and the blog, The World According to Eggface. Somewhere I've seen Cookies made out of Cookies N' Cream Protein powder (instead of flour?). Also, there are recipes on the blog for making protein ice cream! -

9 Days away from surgery!

Welcome! I understand about having anxiety. So many people said that this surgery changed their lives for the better. Keep you eyes on the prize!! Congrats for getting this far in the process. -
@GingerSlim... lucky dawg--- 3 for the price of 1!
-
Instead, how about looking for doctors' presentations on You Tube?!
-
Does your surgeon do presentations to explain the different surgery types? I brought my husband with me when I went, and he told me it made all the difference & was supportive. He felt a lot more comfortable.
