    Complications: HELP!

You've been through a lot! I suggest eating steamed fish with a light sauce, just a little at first, then veggies and, if you still have room, carbs. I agree with @@BLERDgirl on the importance of Vitamins and minerals. I take 2 Bariatric Advantage Calcium citrate caramel chewables, one in the morning, one in the evening. I take 1 Bariatric Advantage Ultra Multi Vitamin with Iron (clear capsule that is easily swallowed in the middle of the day. The timing is important since the calcium and Iron negate each other. I also take a vitamin B-12 under the tongue every other day. Best wishes for continued success!
  2. It takes awhile to adjust--- my eyes are still bigger than my stomach. I always think I can eat more than I actually can. Part of my problem is, even though there's only a little bit more on the plate, I have this urge to "finish my plate." Old habits die hard! I suggest weighing one ounce out for the Protein and only eating that. Also, don't lay down until it has a chance to digest. I have the same reaction to Water. You don't need to drink it plain. There are lots of other drinks: decaf coffee, Crystal Lite, Bao5 (available at COSTCO), Ocean Spray Diet drinks... anything 5 calories or less per cup.
  3. It could be eating or drinking too fast and not having your bites small enough or not chewing well enough. You do have to pace yourself. If it's not that, I suggest you call your surgeon.

    Need soup suggestions

Progresso white potato and clam soup (I strain it so far), thinned with chicken bouillon + unflavored unjury Protein powder.

Pre and post op liquid stages

unjury, Syntrax nectar and GENEPRO taste good and are 100% Protein isolate (that is most absorbable - no "junk" protein).

    Need advise badly

I agree with @@SherB and the previous posters. You have insurance now and a partial safety net for the immediate post-op period. Your marital status is not relevant to whether or not you need to get healthy for your kids and yourself. By the second day, I felt as though I hadn't had surgery. I filled the pain prescription, but didn't need to use even one. To minimize hair loss, make sure there isn't a span of time in which your Protein intake drops really low. For 2 or 3 days I was required to have a clear liquid diet, so the Protein shakes were too heavy. During that time I used the Isopure clear drinks which have 40 grams in each bottle. Also, I suggest that you prepare yourself in advance to make it pleasant--- get good tasting Protein powder, sugarless flavorings and search for recipes on this site and the blog, The World According to Eggface. Besides having confidence in your research and the experience of so many folks on Bariatric Pal, the rest is a leap of faith that everything is going to be OK.

    12 hours from now.....

You can still have a peach yogurt smoothie! Torani has a sugar free peach flavoring: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_12?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=torani%20peach%20sugar%20free&sprefix=Torani+peach%2Caps%2C142
  10. It's very common, especially if you've had kids, for those muscles to separate. Putting it back together is the best way to get and keep a trim look.
  11. I was sleeved on 9/26. Anything in particular that you want to know?

    Ditto... enjoy your new life!
  13. Just have your ducks in a row... order or buy whatever Protein shakes and Vitamins you're going to need, + incidentals like sugar free flavorings, PB2 and or malted milk powder (for chocolate protein shakes). I also suggest you ask your doctor to write orders to get your pain meds put into the IV, so you don't have nurses handing you a very large pill. Also, tell your doctor that you want the gas removed so you don't have pain afterwards.

    My Dog loves me!

Oh, with all this talk about dogs, I thought maybe folks were putting the FitBit on them! You know that's cheating!

    Using PB2 on Liquid Diet

Sure, you can add that to the shakes or sugar free puddings.

  18. I suggest doing a half hour or whatever you can in aerobic exercise.
  19. You may want to consider therapy before you alienate your family.

    Scared to death.....

A friend of main had atrial fibrillation. They fitted her for a pacemaker that detects when there is a problem and gives the heart a tiny jolt to right things again. She had it put in around a month ago and will be sleeved around the end of November.

Truly don't know what to do

A few days after surgery, I was told I could eat anything I tolerated. What really tasted good to me early on was Progresso Potato and Clam Cream Soup, with the solids strained out. Then I added more chicken bouillon to thin it out. Having something to eat that was hot with salt gave me a break from the Protein shakes. My main brand of shakes is unjury. I like them, beefed up with malted milk powder, PB2 or sugarless flavorings to vary the flavor.

8 months post op with pics

You give me hope. You look absolutely fantastic!

    Protein Shakes!

I mix unjury protein powder with Silk unsweetened soymilk + sugarless flavorings to change them when they get boring. Soymilk has more body than skim milk.
