    Surgery tomorrow!

    Best wishes!
  2. I had my gall bladder removed laparoscopically. I didn't have any pain afterwards.
  3. I suggest tracking your Protein, carbs and calories just to see what's going on.

What song reminds you of your journey?

    "Big Girls Don't Cry"

    Protein Source

Protein isolate is the most absorbable. Is it 100% protein isolate?

    Normal at this stage?

    That sounds about right.

    Sharp pains

I suggest you call your surgeon's office.
  8. Isopure has clear ready-to-drink Protein drinks. There are 40 grams of protein in each bottle.
  9. I suggest calling the doctor's office to see if you still need it. I am almost 2 months post-surgery. I was told I don't need it anymore. The whole idea is to minimize the stomach acid so the sleeve has a chance to heal better.

    Cold Feet For Surgery

I recommend the book, "Emotional First Aid" (the bariatric one) by Cynthia Alexander. It helped me change my relationship with food. For me, the restriction of the sleeve helps restrict calories and stop the need to constantly diet, without much to show for it. I firmly believe this tool will help you out too.

    "Stop" signs

I usually have a very slight feeling of being full and/or a little hiccup. I stop there. I don't want to get to the "one bite too much" stage.

    Protein powder help

I'm wondering if there is a misunderstanding. My NUT said that, *other than Protein shakes*, the liquids needed to be 5 calories a cup or less. For example Ocean Spray Diet drinks, crystal lite. Other than that, calories are never mentioned.
  13. Sounds like you're on the right track! Add up the Protein grams. I blend my Protein shakes with unsweetened soymilk; that adds 7 grams of protein. Protein grams should come out to 60 - 80grams/day. Also, make sure your liquids add up to at least 64oz/day.

22 months post out with pics

    What a transformation! Congratulations!
  15. It's only happened a couple times, when I ate too much ("one bite too much") and/or too quickly. It happens rarely now since I'm getting more used to the smaller portion sizes.
  16. I get mine at COSTCO-- Progresso Potato and Clam Soup with the potato chunks taken out. Then I add a can of chicken bouillon to thin it out a bit. It was a little too thick during early post-op.

    My last appointment

It all depends on who gets the paperwork. Some are quick; some aren't. After 2 weeks into the starting period, I started my pre-op diet so I wouldn't have to wait 2 weeks after that to have my surgery. That wound up allowing me to get a much earlier opening in my surgeon's schedule.

    one week out...gained!

NOT a problem... just stick with the program. Everyone is different!

    Refrained beans?!

[doesn't stop me!] I was wondering if we should refrain from eating beans!

    16 days out stall

No, just keep with the program and not weigh so often.
  21. @@natalie_christin, my NUT recommended 60 - 80 grams of Protein per day, closer to 60 for women, 80 for men.

    Leak Test

My doctor did the leak test before the surgery was over.
