7:15 am surgery tomorrow and sooo hungry!
BeagleLover replied to kymmiej11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tell the doctor to remove the gas so you don't have any pain. Also, ask that pain meds be put into your IV instead of taking large pills. -

Can't stomach broth
BeagleLover replied to jblgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, the goal is to finish at least 64oz of any liquid. It doesn't have to be broth. -
No. I feel depressed lots of times too.
-
I use a spreadsheet to tract the total number of Protein grams and the number of ounces I drink. Protein needs to total between 60 & 80 grams; liquids: >= 64 ounces. I don't bother with tracking anything else because, to me, it would feel too much like dieting which I'm sick and tired of.

Egd, protein shakes, a checklist? ?
BeagleLover replied to livanneluv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't think you need to start with the Protein shakes yet. You'll be doing that before your surgery anyway. You could collect a bunch of recipes from this site and the blog, "The World According to Eggface," Another think I have found helpful is getting the Torani or DaVinci sugarless syrups to be able to change up the flavors of your Protein shake and serve as the base for the recipes. I have tasted ready-made Protein Shakes and protein powders; some taste terrible, very medicinal. I use unjury because they taste good without that awful taste. Good luck! -
If you're not already doing this, eat and drink VERY slowly!

... sounds toxic to me. -
Does your Protein powder taste like it has a medicinal taste? I use unjury which I find very pleasant tasting. Another benefit is that it has 100% protein isolate, which is the protein most absorbable. Another brand that is all isolate and a good taste are Syntrax nectar. I haven't tasted GENEPRO but heard it is tasty also.

So overwhelmed! Where to start?
BeagleLover replied to Sunshine1976's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi... welcome! What do you need help with? If you need help in a jiffy, you can always use the SEARCH feature. -
Check out the blog, "The World According to Eggface."

I suggest calling your surgeon. He/she can prescribe a medication that will help.
-
I really don't know. Just relax and go with the flow.

Your dream outfit
BeagleLover replied to bobbyswife's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm just now fitting in a bright orange sleeveless dress with my fave denim jacket with all kinds of different buttons sewn on the bottom 2 inches, worn with magenta tights. I just bought a hot red dress with rhinestones in a size 8 for incentive! -
My husband was with me until they took me away for surgery. The IVs with the pain meds were in.
-
No. Didn't know, didn't see... I was sleepin' Doubt if they would allow videos for legal reasons, I imagine.
-
Yeah, they just wheeled me into the operating room and told me to put my ars in a certain spot and don't even remember putting my head down. When I woke up, it was over... piece of cake.

Day 4 Post Op Pain
BeagleLover replied to Muffy's Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have any pain. If the pain is that bad, I think you should call your surgeon. -
The hair loss might be related to not having enough Protein right after surgery. The stretchy part of the stomach was removed. The part that is left is muscular and not very stretchable. As the swelling goes down, you will have more room and not feel as full as quickly as you did in the early post-op days. Very normal.
