Still hurts when the liquid goes down
AlwaysLorri replied to AlwaysLorri's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your response. For me it's hot , cold or room temperature it just doesn't matter. I hope it goes away. It just stops me from my intake. How long did it last you? -
How's it going now that you're home? 4 days post op and feeling better everyday. Incisions are sore. Still on clears. I go for my long walk in the morning and in the evenings many short ones. Gas, what can I say? Its like three racing card in my guts doing loop the loops. Gas x. Not sure if that helps. Hernia repair is causing most of my discomfort. Hoping to end this week well. I hope you're getting better as well as our other May sleevers.

There were four of us none who had the same surgery, one women had 3 lawyers in there. Very small space! I'm home know what about you?

I am one day post op and feeling ok. I'm walking and trying to get my liquids in so I can go home. I want to get to sleep. Your not left for a minute alone, plus there are other patients in my room. So noises. Ok I'm grouchy!

I wish you a speedy recovery! They want me to be there at 10am. If you can keep me posted on how your doing. Positive thoughts and light are being sent your way.

I'm certainly trying to be ready. It's not easy. Feel like I won't be able to get some sleep tonight. What about you?

Can't believe tomorrow is almost here my surgery date. I have lots to do to prepare. I hope I get some sleep tonight. My heart is beating so fast. -
Thanks for responding to my query. I hope I feel well enough though, I'm his only parent and they are honoring him. Arghh makes me think I should have scheduled it for the summer break.

Hi May Sleevers, My surg date is this Monday. For those who are now post op do you think I will be able to attend my 14 years old art exhib/opening on Thurs? I would hate to miss it. If only for a half hour, I just want to swing by take pictures and head home. Is this doable or would I be super uncomfortable by then?
-
LOL, I was thinking about this the other day. Mine weren't good looking to start with. I plan on working out my back and front muscles to get that lift going.

I thought the same about the clear diet sodas but again, it's all over the place. Haven't received instructions to go clear but see in the forums and other related materials that most doctors recommend it. I haven't had soda of any kind in 3-months, won't start know. I have not received my time yet. Wish they would provide it so I can make transportation plans and guardian plans for my child.

The following foods are allowed in a clear liquid diet: Plain Water clear fruit juices such as apple juice, white grape juice lemonade Clear, fat-free broth (bouillon or consomme) Clear diet sodas Plain gelatin - no dark colors sugar free Ice pops Tea

A-mazing!!! The best gift is your health and well-being! -
I went to two 711s in NYC they didn't have them. bummer! Xojessny, our day is fast approaching. What are you bringing to the hospital? Also, I'm going to put myself on Clear liquids 3 days before the surgery. It's odd that there are so many different pre-op diet and lengths. Mine being 4 weeks. I feel like it's been forever although easy not to think of what to have to eat 3 times a day.
-
Agreed! did you get any special instructions regarding diet? I didn't so just wondering. LR
-
Hi xojessny, Pre-testing was a snap! Ekg, anesthesiologist, chest x-rays and blood. I was in and out in 90 mins. Hope yours goes well today. LR

Your pre-op diet is similar to mine. I am having my surgery at NYU and you?

Thanks cherrytree15, It felt long and challenging but doable! -
It's going ok for me as well. Suger-free slurpie sounds divine! I am beginning my 4th week of the post-op diet. So tired of the Protein shakes, my buds need something else. I'm allowed two cups of veggies or non-fat Soup. I've opted for tomato. what are you able to have on your post op diet? I've learned that there are different pre-op diets on this forum. I am going to the pre-admission testing today. They said I'll be meeting with my anesthesiologist, run some more tests that weren't done at the medical clearing testing. Have you had yours yet? I'm a bit nervous but eager to go through with it.

Hi xojessny, I am having my surgery on May 19th. How has the pre-op been going for you? I was on the May 20th thread. There are a few of May 19 sleevers there too.

Fighting To Keep My Perspective
AlwaysLorri replied to MorningGlory's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You may not shop the "regular sizes" yet but you no longer shop in your closet. The clothes you have fit you BIG! I can't wait to have that experience. Women body types are all different. I can't wait to shop for new clothes in a few months be it a 1x at a regular store instead of a 1x at a plus-size store. BIG difference! My best to you all. -

May 19th for me too. I am on the start of my 4th week pre-op. Next week it will be the start of my new life. can't wait to clean up my closet! Feeling really good, lost 25 lbs - that reminds me I need to update my ticker. I know I'll be longing for a shake once I am post op and not allowed to have one for a week, but for now my taste buds are tired of it. I never was able to have the 5 shakes a day. Three is plenty, I hope I'm getting all the nutrients needed. I worry about all the post-op pain and first few days "regretation" (made up word) that I've seen on this forum and on videos. Keeping my tunnel -vision, eye on the prize mentality going into it. Best of luck for a speedy recovery and a healthy post-op! -
Hi yllwrose, you and I will be sleeve sisters. My surgery date is on May 19th as well. I'm on the later part of my 4-week pre-op diet. Keep up the blog. I will be reading it. good wishes for a healthy journey!
