Has anyone tried this program? I saw an informercial this morning for it and it looks fun and motivating! All the reviews I found online for it look good as well. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a fun, motivating cardio workout for when I am fully healed. thanks!

Congrats JMO!!! You are now in bandland woohoo!! It's been 3 weeks since my surgery and I feel great. I don't even feel like I had surgery. I can eat, but not nearly as much as I used to. And today I put on a pair of capris that were very snug before the surgery and today they seem to fit just fine! I'm so happy I have done this, now if I could only get my butt to do some excercise the weight would probably melt away....

Jenn- I have also been wondering about this as well once school begins again the beginning of September. Usually I am exhausted from teaching by the time I get home, cook dinner, eat straighten the house that all I want to do is pass out in bed, but by then I usually have to grade some work or call some parents. I am figuring I am going to have to wake up earlier and get in a 20-30 minute circuit workout on my bowflex before I head out to work. This way I will be energized for the day and if I feel up to it Dh and I can go for a walk after dinner. So now I will have to wake up around 5:15 in the morning yuck!!! I haven't excercised yet because I just had surgery 2 and a half weeks ago and the dr wants me to take it easier at least for another week or so. We can do this!!

July5forme- Cottage cheese Applesauce mashed potatoes oatmeal eggs beans (however you like em) cereal that has been sitting in milk for a little bit luncheon meats (Cold cuts, but not stringy meats) soft cheeses meatballs meatloaf spinach peas pudding custard frozen yogurt tuna salad chicken salad egg salad My doctors office said anything counts as mushies if it can be smooshed with a fork. I think this is enough variety to keep you full

Hi Beth!! Of course you can join our group!!! I was banded on the 5th and trust me the pain gets much better. My protein drinks were disgusting. Right now I am on mushy food for about another week and a half, don't worry you will get through it! Welcome to bandland!!

I am 25 and my husband is 28 we both are banded. (Him in April me 7/5/06) I have severe asthma and sleep apnea. DH thankfully is healthy now but has a family history of diabetes and heart disease and wanted to get his weight under control while he is still young. I think it's great that we have access to this wonderful tool at such a young age.

FEHB--Federal Employees Health Benefits
DaNieLLaBeLLa replied to Victoria 1's topic in Insurance & Financing
DH is a federal employee, he has GHI FEHB as his primary plan. They did not cover the lapband. We appealed all the way to Washington and they still would not cover it. Both DH and I got our lapbands through my health insurance HIP Prime. I have no idea about plastics, because DH was banded in April and I was banded 7/5/06. Good luck! -
My steristrips took about a week to come off. There was one little bugger that was holding on by a thread that I had to help a little. I felt much better when they came off!

BigGirlPantiez - Yes I too have an incision under my left breast. I am a 48DDD they probably needed a crank to lift and hold my breast while they were operating! LOL :update: Today I went for my 2 week post op and the Physician's Assistant said my incisions are healing beautifully! AND I'm down 7 lbs from the morning of my surgery!! YEEHAWWWWWWWW!!!  I am feeling great and looking forward to start walking on a daily basis, but this heat wave in the Northeast is killing me....it's too hot to just sit outside, let alone go for a vigorous walk! Congrats to all of you that have been banded and good luck to those about to be banded!!

Awesome advice Poodles!!

Jenna- I just survived my first year teaching 7th grade Language Arts in NYC. I would be happy to share anything you want/need for to make your first year a little smoother. I just found this website www.internet4classrooms.com and it has a ton of grade level appropriate worksheets and ideas for all the major subjects. I also need to write a welcome letter for my first day of school. I am actually going to start arranging all the materials I collected throughout the year this week so I am organized for September. Feel free to PM or Email me if you want to chat about teaching Good luck!

Thanks so much for your response! I think I am going to give the videos a try and add it to my Walk Away the Pounds routine
-
Puddinpie - Is it hard to follow?? Do you have to be super coordinated to keep up with the videos? Have you seen good results with the videos? Thanks for responding!

Hey everyone! :clap2: I am a long time lurker who was just banded on Wednesday and I am feeling great! I am a little sore and tired but that is to be expected! I cannot tell you how happy I am to have had the surgery and to be on the losing side now! I am so excited to begin my life in bandland!! :biggrin1:

I am bored to tears and I want nothing more than to stuff my fat face right now with ANYTHING! Protein shakes are not cutting it, I want to chew chew chew chew until my jaw falls off! HELP!
-
Jen I can be there at that time but what time zone are you talking about? I am assuming eastern time? Please clarify! Good luck to everyone who is about to be banded, and congratulations to those that are in bandland!!!
-
Josephine you are an inspiration to me!! I was just banded last week and hope to be as successful as you have been with your band!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Thanks Jamie!! I have been a member of this site for over a year, but didn't really say much because I wasn't sure if I would ever get the band. But now I'm banded and loving it for the most part! Leona - Yay for us July5 bandsters! There seems to be a lot of us doesn't there? I caved and had some mashed potatoes a little while ago. I had a nervous breakdown and started crying because I can't do the Protein shakes because they are disgusting. DH made me very very thin (consistency of yogurt, which I am allowed) mashed potatoes and they were like having heaven on a fork!! I feel much better now Becka, do you have surgery scheduled anytime soon?

Good luck to all of you!!! Can't wait for you to be in bandland with the rest of us!!! You guys will do great! -
Thanks Stephanie!! I am very surprised at how good I feel and so is DH. He thought I was going to be laying on the couch crying for him to do everything for me. It's amazing isn't it? Best of luck to you on your journey to a better you!
-
Thanks luv! Your time will be here before you know it!! You'll do great!

July5forme - Yes taking a deep breath is difficult. I am a severe asthmatic and since the surgery have felt a tightness in my chest, but it is not asthma related. I think it just the trapped gas and the soreness of the muscles that are making it difficult to breathe deeply. Like Paula said practice with your incentive spirometer!!
-
I am so glad we are doing so well. Those of you that are about to be banded, you will do great!! I am not hungry, just sore. I am having hard time getting my water in because I am finding I am not really thirsty. I never had a problem drinking a gallon of water pre-op I also miss the sensation of having something to chew. I am down another .9 of a lb as of this morning. Can we say WOW!? HOw is everyone else doing?
-
Hi there and welcome!! Your surgery date will be here in no time!! I was just banded on the 5th and am feeling great! Good luck on your pre-op diet and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
