Anyone have the sleeve surgery around may 7 2014?
DebiWright replied to lizzyloo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a May 6ther also. I haven't lost since 10 day post op. Nurse said no worries your body is trying to figure out your next move. Are you going to eat or starve it. She said this happens through the entire process. I am living off cottage cheese and Protein drinks so far. Looking forward to day 21. I must say I have ate re-friend beans my list of approved foods, but I only ate close to 2 tbsp. Glad to see others are eating them also. I am ready for tuna/mayo what a treat that will be! -
Congrats! I am a 10 day-er also. I had the same situtation with waking up. I dailed my swallow test and nothing was going through for 3 days violently ill. But, now I am good. My full liquid diet is differant. But I did get cottage cheese and peach baby food yesterday and LOVED it. Ate at Chili's last night for a B-day party. Had a cup of potatoe soup and had the waitress bring hot water to thin it. DELISH! Today I am looking forward to advancing and feeling even more alive!.

Surgery Date..One week away! Excited & nervous
DebiWright replied to bigloser2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
May 6th for me, today was pre-op, signing last consent forms, paying for the surgery! Things got VERY REAL today! I know that if I needed surgery for a tumor or any other life threatning condition I would not question it. So I will not question this because I belive this is life saving for me. -
This is so difficult!
DebiWright replied to aNewTanya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am to be sleeved Tues 4/6 and what a blessing to be worried about having to eat and not the curse we live with from over eating. I am looking forward to food not controlling me. And the pre-op diet has really opened my eyes to why I am in the shap e I am in. I realized today that food has always been on the front burner in my life, but I have made a decision to put me in front of everything else. -
I am on day 7 had hit a brick wall yesterday. I have been taking in Isopure powder shakes no carbs. Called the clinic to learn that my shakes can have carbs if less than 10 grams. I am sure that is why I am a limp dishrag. I bought another brand with less than 10 grams and have had one shake this afternoon. I am hoping this will make a huge difference. Call your docs office and find out your restrictions.

DebiWright replied to njkelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How are you fellow sleevers doing today? I am also having surgery on the 6th and my stomache has spams so bad I am gagging. I have had no energy today and felt like a wet kitten. I still have not put one unauthourised thing in my mouth. Please tell me this part will get easier -

Cash Pay For Surgery, Using Insurance for Pre-Op testing
DebiWright posted a topic in Insurance & Financing
My question is...I am paying cash for the surgery due to have insurance with strick exclusions. But now my doc wants me to have colonascopy, EGD. Will that throw flags to my insurance carrier and cause them to excluced payments for any sleeve related charges? -
