But I love the word plump, it reminds me of rich, ripe and juicy:lol:. Just think how much nicer this is than thin and dry. Having said that I want to be slim, but I do not want to be thin.:tt1:

It does make me cross to have fat and ugliness banded together. I think there are far more thin ugly people than fat ugly people. And thin people with ugly minds, ie those who say they hate fat people!

I really like Shephers pie, It is a pity I must not eat it any more. However my surgeon did say that I could eat slider foods if I went out to a restaurant, in order to avoid any embarassment with PBs

Hi Longtobethin. I was reading the a Weight Watchers Magazine that the organization did not mind people who had WLS going to their meetings. However I would not chance telling them, just in case. -
Yeah, why is it called Shepherds Pie when it has no shepherds in it? In the UK Shepherds pie is minced lamb (Ithink you call it ground lamb), topped with mashed potatoes. We also have cottage pie which is minced beef topped with mashed potatoes. Cumberland pie is minced meat, topped with potatoes and then topped with cheese. These are all no good for bandsters as they are slider foods

I can see both sides. I did think that BrandyII found an excuse not to try anything suggested to her, but I did think the tough love guys were too hard on her.

Original poster Bochs Hi to all tonight. I am one day out now and I have alot of heartburn tonight. So far today I have had a little unjury drink, broth, jello, and ice chips, about 1/2 cup of each throughout the day. Thats about all I can do. I am not very comfortable at all. I have been doing laps around my house about four times today to try and get this gas out but so far nothing. I can't imagine how I will be able to eat again very easily after being on liquids for 10 days. I know one thing, I got to get rid of this heartburn or else. I know you have all experienced this but I am kind of down tonight. i just wanted to vent a little. Thanks all. Do you have such things as Peppermint tea of peppermint cordial. This is supposed to help with very bad gas and the pain you get in your shoulder -
Glad you got clear Susan4797. I do not PB very often, but when I do it leaves me all shaken up for a considerable time afterwards. Does anyone else feel like that?

I have a 14ml or cc band. My stomach must have been humungous!!!! LOL. I have 7.5mls in my band, but now need another fill. I have had two fills and have been banded for one year Good Luck to everyone especially those who have recently been banded -
OP Susan4794 My broccoli is stuck. I feel so sorry for you. I once ate a meal and thought that I had chewed really well. However I got a terrific pain in my chest (it feels like it is in the throat). It was really painful and in the end I had to induce a PB (or a Hewey as I call them) and it was the tiniest piece of broccoli causing the pain. It did not stop me eating broccoli though

Big Baby. Well Done. You look amazing. You are little baby now

Losing. You lightly steam spinach. You can boil it but not too much and then you need to squeeze all the water out of it. It is really good with ricotta cheese. Lots of people eat it with a poached egg on top. I hope you were not asking about spinach "tongue in cheek". If so excuse my lack of humour

Don't go blue Mac. In the U K, in the past, losts of ladies of a cerain age dyed their grey hair blue. They became known as "the blue rinse brigade" because they were perceived as elderly ultra right wing conservatives. I suppose you could go purple which is the nearest. Pink sounds nice though.

I have not posted on here for ages. I was looking at some old posts and noted that some of you had trouble seeing some small print. I am really thrilled because in the last two weeks I have had "inter occular lens" fitted in my eyes and now I can see all the small print. I am absolutely thrilled. I know this has nothing to do with weight loss, but it has made me feel good. The only problem is that now I can see the bags under my eyes. Good luck to everyone with their weight loss. -
Should Medicare/Medicaid cover the band?
ingyrob replied to wrk-n-prgrss's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What about me then? I pay into a Private Insurance Sheme and into the National Health Service and I still had to self pay for my band. And I met the criteria for the NHS. I am envious of those who get it for free, especially those with a much lower BMI than me. -
Wow! Wasa, Hear! Hear! You call it "white carbs", I call it "sugar". It is the root of all evil. There is a book about sugar called "Pure, White and Deadly" and so it is
