Hi angelface811, I was told to use sf milk of magnesia 2 tablespoons every 4 hours. It's nasty so I put into my night protein shake and then again in the morning. Easiest poop ever, tmi -

I had a revision from the band to bypass. My scope biopsy revealed I have Barrett's esophagus, which is precancerous cells and the bypass will make this go away. The sleeve is what I wanted but patients can get acid reflux/Gerd which is what caused the Barrett's and bypass seems to rectify it. Something about the shape of the stomach in the sleeve procedure. The statistics are hand in hand so I took the docs advise. 2 week follow up tomorrow. -

Band failure... My almost journey to revision
tebowfan replied to MimIN's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am doing great, thank you! I am so exited for you. My surgery was also on a Wednesday. I did bloodwork on that Monday, had a your of the hospital that same day. Tuesday, I got my nails done and bought what I needed. Wednesday, I was like, let's do this. I was completely calm. Of course mom called the church and they were praying for me and friends and family also. I felt at peace. My surgery and post op diet has been pretty easy to follow. I bought GNC lean 25 chocolate Protein shake and gnc unflavored protein. I have not gotten tired of it. If you have any other questions let me know. I love to help. Praying for you Wednesday! Update me when u can. -

I am 8 days out from the bypass and I would take at least 5 straight days off. It's more about being tired. I was so tired and fell asleep easily. I am a person that never took naps before. I have had zero problems and so glad I had this surgery and I love my doc:) -
Just ordered on eBay. Hope they are easy recipes:)
-
I do believe gnc is buy one and get 1/2 off these. The first 2 days are like the pre diet. The 3rd day you add in strained cream soups and pudding.

My experience has been way to good. I have had no hitches. I have lost a total of 18 lbs since preop, I took minimal pain meds afterwards and started walking in hospital. Here is what I liked...gnc lean 25 chocolate protein shake, add water. Sf Popsicles variety and jello. I love strawberry crush sf packets for water bottles. I also bought gnc unflavored protein powder and add to my pudding and soups. I bought chicken soup healthy & Targets brand cream of mushroom lower sodium soup. I would buy sf milk of magnesia 2 tablespoons every 4 hours till you poop. I did this about 4 days after. Gas x chewables for gas. The gas went up into my shoulders and this helped some. I did by a body pillow to help get to sleep partially on my side sooner. Not necessary though. Hope this helps. I am here if you have any other questions:)

My doc said 2 tablespoons of milk of magnesia and repeat in 4 hours if you don't go

I didn't take anymore pain medicine. I was sleepy but not in pain. I did have one of those pain balls inside myself. Other than that nothing. I made myself walk several times and went home around 5pm the day after surgery. I don't think this will last long for you. -
My doctor does a two week diet also. Under 900 calories or less. Protein drinks, broth, sf jello and sf Popsicles. That's it. The reason he is doing this is strink your liver so it is easier to get to your stomach and such. The higher your bmi the fatter the liver so it takes longer to strink. The first3 days are the worst cause mostly giving up caffiene. After that it was much easier. You can do this!! I am 1 week postop today!

I also get hungry often. I am still eating very little calories. I have 8 ounces of Protein shake made with Water, can of Soup with unflavored Protein powder, 1-2 sf puddings with added protein powder and 1-2 sf Popsicles, and another shake at night. This just seams like a lot, but I'm still losing. Adubs2014, What are you eating? -

Glad you feel better. My surgery was the day before yours. I finally lost the 11 lbs I gained during hospital stay. Yay! I haven't had any bad feelings when eating. Sometimes I feel like I get hungry to often though. Keep up the great work.
