Gastric Sleeve to Gastric Bypass
tebowfan replied to sassycruiser's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had the band and revised to bypass earlier this month. U was going to have the sleeve, but doc recommended bypass cause it can help/cure acid reflex/Gerd. I read somewhere it has to so with the shape of the stomach the sleeve is made into, which plays a big roll in getting reflux. I am glad he steered me in this direction. -

tebowfan replied to Purple Iris's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had my bypass surgery May 7th. Everything has been great, but I noticed when I woke up yesterday and then every time I get up today I am dizzy. It goes away once I sit back down. Anyone else getting dizzy? Does anyone know why I am? -

I stay thinking about food
tebowfan replied to keeba's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keeba: I could have fudge pops after day 2 post op. I loved unflavored protein powder in my jello. And dannon fit&?? Vanilla yogurt. The yogurt helped me stay full the longest. -
Bariatric Advantage and Celebrate Shakes
tebowfan replied to jtickle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't understand how they can make you, but I have tried both vitamins and I am currently going with celebrate cause it's cheaper. My docs office sells it with like a $ 5 up charge for shopping , but it's not mandatory. These are the only 2 companies I know of that have what we need after surgery and break down in our body correctly. The bariatric advantage powder taste ok but it has a thick texture. I have tried vanilla and the coffee flavor. If I bought more it would be chocolate and don't over blend cause it can get foamy. The powder is like $ 65 online. Check both companies online and compare the prices with the office. What city do you live in? -
And if it's stuck walk around or take a walk. You also might put your hands above head.

Hi there, sorry you are experiencing this. I just had my revision from band to rny. You are doing the right thing by getting a little infill. I you can have huge issues if you are throwing things up. I would Try drinking Protein shakes till u get in doc and maybe cream of chicken Soups with added unflavored protein. I wish you well.

Band revised to sleeve revised to bypass! Please help
tebowfan replied to jamiep5's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You crack me up!! I feel like it's slow because this year I gained 24 lbs after foot surgery. I am now at the size I have been at for years. I want to go smaller yesterday:). This is what I have been eating...gnc lean 25 Protein powder chocolate twice aday, 1 pudding, 1 can of Soup. I add unflavored Protein Powder and Water to the Soups. I add water to shakes. What are you doing? -
That is great! My doc prescribed scar compound and I have been using. One of my incisions is about an inch and half next to belly button. I wasn't to happy about it. Hopefully it fades or my first tattoo will be there:). I Ambon Texas and wish you were closer. Sounds like we have similar experiences.

Band revised to sleeve revised to bypass! Please help
tebowfan replied to jamiep5's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It is going slowly in my eyes. I have lost 24 lbs and my doc said that's great for my size. I am a 10/12 right now. My goal is to lose 45 more. I have read it comes off slower after a revision. I have to try not to drink to much cause it goes down easily. I haven't gotten to solid foods yet. Keep in touch with me please! -

Band revised to sleeve revised to bypass! Please help
tebowfan replied to jamiep5's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Dr Molina invented the first band and it was not adjustable. In 1999, I had it and for years r I threw up everything. It was so tight nothing could go down. I lost down to a size 2, very tiny. I didn't know, but apparently it was an experimental band. Ugh! It was also not lapriscopic. Bypass surgery is a piece if cake compared to that surgery, not to mention that quack doctor didn't believe in pain meds. Glad you are getting the bypass! You will be much happier and healthier! -

tebowfan replied to Corey W's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You could see on my stomach where the port was at first, but I am 15 days out and it is gone. I don't know when it went away, but it did:) -
Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!
tebowfan replied to Eroper6's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am 15 days out and you can have avocados. If you make guacamole, I would use half am avacado and mix with Greek yogurt, pico, And a little garlic powder and Cheyenne pepper. Use a blender to purée consistency. You might mix protein powder with refried beans and season. Dallas of this guacamole with it. Fill you up quick and protein in everything (: hope that helps -
Same here! I kept reading all these bad post experiences and also a couple of people I met said it will feel like I've been hit in the stomach a bunch. I did not experience any if that. I did get gas in my shoulder and that was not fun, but eventually it went away. My incisions are looking better. I just started adding puréed foods into my diet yesterday with much success. Let me know if I can offer you any advice. What state are you in?
-
Thank you so much! Great to know.

My mother needs a revision from the band to bypass, but our doctor said Medicare doesn't cover a revision. Do you mind me asking what state you love in?

Surgery scheduled but nervous
tebowfan replied to pumpkin73's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Don't be scared. I had my lap band revision to bypass May 7. I was expecting this surgery to really take a toll on me, but it was not bad at all. I had minimum, very minimum pain and left day after surgery to go home. Only took Tylenol once. So excited for you!! -
You will do great. My surgery was May 7 th and It has been much easier than expected.

Hi allielee, how are you doing? I also had the same revision may 7th and I'm doing great! Can't wait to hear how you are.
