As far as pain, this surgery is nothing compared to he tummy tuck pain. You would think it would be worse cause I have a cut from the groin to the knee and cut from right below arm pit to to almost the elbow. I would definitely work on abs and squats before having any if these surgeries. You will need those muscles to get out of bed and sit on toilet. I am really glad I did. I am 9 days out and so far I have shopped on 3 different days for about 2 hours at a time. I went to a wedding last night and was in a car for 2 and half hours total to get there and back. I did way more than I should have but so far I haven't paid for it today. I do have a pain that shoots in one if my arms out of the blue but mostly when I take clothes on or off. I only take meds when I am going somewhere and that's only 1 hydro codeine instead of 2. Antestisiaologist said the tummy tuck is the hardest to go through. To me that's the first thing a weightloss patient should have done. It makes the biggest difference. One last thing, I was complimented by so many and they didn't know I had anything done. I told them I pulled my groin, lol!

Any suggestions on silicone strips and compression garments for arm lift and thigh lift? Thanks

@@MichiganChic It's going good. Had my stitches taken out today. Doc likes the way all looks I am in compression outfit and calves wrapped. I have only a few pains here and there, basically one of my arms. Just a spring if pain towards my wrist, even though I had no surgery on my lower arm. I guess it's be nerves in there. So far I am thankful I did it and can't wait for swelling to go down. I will start therapy message next week to get rid if swelling edema thank you for being so sweet!

I am doing well! Had a 6.5 hour surgery in Thursday. I am wrapped up and have my compressions on. I am very swollen, but I can tell duffle differences already. The pain hasn't been bad at all. I am glad I have abs cause you mostly use them only to get up. Thank you so much for asking about me! I am praying the pain will stay away I see doc on Monday.

i like to out the pack of red Hawaiian punch in my water bottle. I can drink much more water now. You get about 10 packs in a box for $1. I was told caffeine does not count cause it dehydrates you.

The band surgery was much worse for me then The RNY. So happy

@@rhfactor272 I couldn't agree more with ^^^. I had same experience and so glad I went with doctors recommendation and had the RNY.

Call insurance and get reason for denial. Then call your wl surgeon and ask them to go to bat for you. You can't live like this so don't get off the phone with doctors office til they will call and schedule a meeting with insurance. I think it's a pier on pier. Don't give up!!

I had a revision from band to bypass and it has been great! No more stuck feeling and vomiting. Absolutely, no reflux after surgery! It's a great feeling and I healed much faster after bypass than the band for some reason. Although, I didn't have a lot of energy for awhile. I am so excited for you and I pray you will get the approval. If you do not get approved have your doctor so a Pier to Pier (I think that's what it is called). The doctor will schedule to talk to insurance for you & plead your case. (:

I had the gastric band and wanted a revision to the sleeve, but I also found out I have Barrett's esophagus and my surgeon would not do the sleeve. The reason is the shape of the new stomach a sleeve is made into will cause acid reflux which leads to Barrett's esophagus. Gastric bypass is known to get rid of acid reflux in most patients. I was freaked out and saddened by this, but I knew I didn't want to not have any weight loss tool so I went with the gastric bypass. I have never regretted doing it and my recovery was much easier than when I had the the band surgery. I have never had acid reflux again. I have to have a scope yearly and acid reflux medicine once a day maybe forever. I have not once thrown up or had that stuck feeling either. I had the revision a year ago this coming up may. I have never had to run to the bathroom for bowel problems. I have dumped only once and that was on Carmel popcorn I got for Christmas. My symptom was bloated stomach , sweating, stomach and I had to lay down from being extremely tired. When I woke up an hour later all good, but I wont do that again. I love the bypass!!

I am having it in the USA & it will be about 6 weeks for both. I am self paying, boo but yay!

Scheduled for my arm lift and lateral medial thigh lift next month! So excited and any advice would be appreciated.

Did you have plastic surgery on Houston? If so who did you use??

I also had these se problems. I had a revision in May to the RNY. Best section I have ever made. I also wish I had done the RNY in the first place. Please be cautious of the throwing up and acid reflux. I now have Barrett's esophagus from having the band and will have to take medicine for the rest of my life. Not something to play with at all.
