  1. I'm in the same boat. I can stick to a strict diet and lose so much weight the first week and then eat the exact same things the following weeks and either lose nothing or gain. I've been over weight my whole life and have had numerous test done to see why I can lose weight. All test come back with no results. I'm hoping this surgery will help. My biggest fear is that it's not going to. I have not problem with restricting my self and eating healthy because that's pretty much what I do anyway. I am 23 and I will be having the surgery in July! I'm really excited to see where this takes me. Good luck to you ladies!!!

    Romantic Relationship-Secret Surgery-Bad Timing

I totally understand where you are coming from with wanting to keep it from him. If you guys are just friends and not anything serious then it's not his business to know right now if you don't want to tell him. But I also think if he starts asking questions about why you're doing certain things, I think lying to him isn't the way to go. If he truly is a great guy and the right one for you he will understand and be respectful of your decision to have the surgery. If at a later time you tell him you had the surgery and he ask why you didn't tell him when you were having it you could easily say that you guys were just getting to know each other and this was such a personal matter you wanted to wait until you guys got closer before you told. I don't think that Hiding this surgery is anything at all like him hiding that he's a child molester!!!! I've told my family and my close friends about it but I haven't told my work whaT type of surgery I'm having and I don't plan on telling my friends that I hang out with once in a while. Partly because I'm embarrassed that this is what it's come to but mostly because I don't want their judgmental thoughts and options. I am making this decision for me not for anyone else so I don't care what they have to say about it. I don't even what to hear it. I think by telling my close friends and family (who have all been so supportive) will bring me more success. Having their support is a great feeling!! As for the scars... I'm still pre-op so I don't know how quickly they will fade. I think it's different for everyone though because everyone's body heals differently and show scars differently.

    Tattoos

Dis anyone have tattoos before surgery? How did they look after? I have a tattoo I want to get but I'm not sure if I should wait until after surgery and if so how far out should I wait? I want to get on my upper back/Lower neck area. My mom says I should wait until I hit goal or close to it. Any thoughts?

That's great idea to use it as a reward to myself!! It might even help motivate me more to reach my goal faster!!!!
  5. I was just wondering if anyone had tattoos before surgery? How did they look after surgery? I'm really wanting to get a tattoo on my upper back/lower neck area. I was going to get it before surgery but my mom told me to wait until I hit my goal or close to it so my tatto doesn't look bad. Any thoughts?

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

I understand that I need to make reasonable goals so I don't feel like I failed and I would honestly be happy at 200lbs. But with that being said I also know if I set my mind to it I could loose enough weight to be at my healthy weight for my height. I just didn't like the way she said it. Working for a bariatric surgeon shouldn't she be more positive?

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

It's so motivating seeing all these people weighing over 300 pounds loosing all this weight. I started at 337. I'm doing all the pre-operation requirements. But going into my first meeting with the surgeon one of his PAs asked me what I would like to weight. I told her for my height (5'11) I would like to be around 170-180 and she looked at me and said that is absolutely impossible you need to have more realistic expectations or else this isn't going to work. I was kind of taken back by that and it made me rethink this whole thing. But after seeing so many people with amazing results I know I can do it. Nothing is going to stop me. I'm bound and determined to prove her wrong!!!!
