Hey guys.. i havent written in a while. After much consideration and going back and forth, I actually decided to do the gastric bypass at the last minute. My surgery date is Nov 12th as of right now. good luck all you bandsters!!!!!!!!!!!

ooooooohhhh. ok. lol.. yea.. So... is anyone having the issue of being torn between the band and the bypass??? Ive literally been obessing over it for the past 16 hrs.. Im scheduled for the band... but Im worried that its not going to be for me. . Ive looked up the pros and cons and i am seeing way too many people having to get it revised.. WOMEN in particular.. seems to be that the men do better with the band. Anyone have any input or advice?

Ahh. Nov 12th is the day.. my sis is getting the bypass nov 19th... crazyyyy my poor mother..i pity her. lol

Goldie.. you are lucky.. my boss is NOT all for it... actually i feel like shes been trying to talk me out of it more and more.. I opened up with the small group i work with at work and it was the biggest mistake EVER... My family and friends are behind me.. hell my sis is getting it done the same month.. andddd my mom had it done almost 9 yrs ago. :-D

hey guys havent been around much.. i actually go to the doctor in... an hour .. again. should know more about my date.. im really shocked i havent gotten it. I also have no finished my bloodwork/ekg.. but will be getting that done ASAP. ill let u know when my date is tonight .. soooooo nervous.

Yes it should be. We have the same doc and we were brought up once in this meeting. I really am interested in these boards. Im sick of talkin to my non-WLS friends. It's hard to explain. My mom lost a tonnnn of weight... but regained bout 40 lbs back... she looks amazing. This was when i was 15, so 8 yrs ago she had it done. My friend also got it done a year ago nov... and he lost 100lbs.. DAMN MEN ! lol... :clap2:

Its a lil diff for me .. we did the psych evaluation the first visit.. hes affiliated with the surgeon. So i have seen the surgeon plenty of times. No date as of yet, insurance still has to re-approve it. My sister is supposed to have the gastric bypass in Oct and my mom did the bypass 9 yrs ago, so i'm going a little bit of a diff route. I'm nervous yet excited!!:whoo:
