This is WAY harder than I thought it would be...

Well today starts week 7 for me...I had the typical stall weeks 2-3....I just know myself and I obviously lack self control or I wouldn't be overweight in the first place...the sleeve just doesn't provide me the restriction that I need (or what I thought it would provide me). If I could follow a diet and not cheat I wouldn't need to have surgery--clearly my next steps are to have my mouth sewn shut!

    Salad

I'm 5 weeks out and my doctor said I could have salad as long as I cut the lettuce into really small pieces...I haven't had any problem eating it.

    Daily calories

I went to the doctors last week and he said 800 calories is what I should aim for...I'm 5 weeks out.

    March 2014 Sleevers

I usually have half a packet of weight watchers oatmeal for breakfast, cheese stick for 10:30 snack, yogurt for lunch, I sip on clear protein drink all day (200 calories, but it gives me 48 grams of protein), and dinner is harder... I've had a few pieces of rotisserie chicken, sometimes fish, but it's rarely more than a few bites of anything.

    March 2014 Sleevers

Well I have lost 25 pounds including the pre-op diet...I really thought the weight would be coming off quicker than it is...15 pounds in 4 weeks shouldn't be something to complain about...I know I couldn't have done it without the surgery for sure...but I feel like I'm eating a fraction of my previous diet and yet the pounds stay on! On a brighter note, I don't have any pain, I can tolerate most foods that I want to eat, and generally I feel satisfied with the food that I am eating...trying the whole positive thinking thing...LOL! Did anyone tell you a calorie amount to eat daily? I have no idea if I'm eating too much, or not enough. I see Dr. Sadek on Tuesday so maybe I can ask then.

    Hiatal Hernia Repair

Hi...my husband and I had our sleeve surgery on 3/14...I have no problem eating foods and he cannot keep anything down...the only difference is he had a hernia repaired. Are there any others out there that had a hernia that were unable to eat and now things are better? He is very concerned that he has ruined his chances of living a normal enjoyable life since he is sick after every meal...any words of hope or encouragement from those a bit further along in this journey?

    March 2014 Sleevers

My husband and I had our surgery 3/14...I too, sadly, seem to be able to eat anything...I have lost 25 lbs total but 10 was prior to surgery...I was hoping the weight would be falling off like it was with the pre-op diet but it's not...week 2-3 did not lose anything...a bit of a bummer but slow and steady wins the race, so I've been told. How have you been doing?

    March 2014 Sleevers

I had Dr. Sadek too! I've been putting the vitamins in my water bottle that I mix with Nectar (Fuzzy Navel flavor) protein and sip it all day long...it tastes like fruit punch and since you're drinking it out of a bottle you can't smell the nasty protein/vitamin stench that makes me gag...also since you're sipping it all day long, the vitamins aren't as hard on your stomach...just something to think about!

    Weight coming off too fast?

I find that drinking the nectar fuzzy navel out of a travel mug or shaker with a lid helps--I can't stand the smell either!

    March 2014 Sleevers

I am in the same boat--going into week 3 post-op the same weight that I ended week 1. People on here have assured me that they've experienced similar stalls so all we can do is keep on track and wait...it will happen!

I hear ya with the appetite...my surgeon swore I would not want to eat, but I am straight up hungry every three hours and I'm not craving soup!

Can you have a stall just one week post-op?!

Yeah, I really thought the weight would fall off in the beginning...I fully expected a stall but not so soon. I also was expecting to have more difficulty eating which would have aided in more weight loss but also, not the case...ugh!
  13. So my husband and I had our sleeve surgery March 14th and were both excited to be losing about 2 pounds a day with our 10 day pre-op liquid diet and 7 day post-op liquid diet. Since adding more food in our diet we both have stopped losing weight. We are both eating a lot less than our usual diet so we're not sure where we are going wrong. I am fortunate (or not) to have very little discomfort when eating and probably advanced my diet too quickly, could this be a possible cause to my stall? Anyone else experiencing a stall in weight loss so soon?
  14. We had our sleeves march 14,2014 and finished my one week of clear liquids and most of my week 2 I was good about staying with liquids. Towards the end, I started adding rotisserie chicken and soups that aren't strained and found nothing really bothered my stomach...so I sort of skipped the purée phase and soft food phase. My husband and I both have not lost any weight since the first week post-op visit to the doctor...so we are starting week 3 at the same weight that we were last week. The only thing we can think of is the solid food is too much? Anyone else have a stall just two weeks out?
