    Joining the Fight

Congrats. I just joined here, and it was nice to see your post. I have my second dr's appointment in two weeks and I am looking forward to it. I hope to find some support on this site.

Happy Saturday to you all! Why is the site so quiet?!?

I am new on here and just starting this journey, I thought it would be easier to find support here. I have made comment and chatted but it does not feel inviting to me. You look just amazing. When was your surgery?

    yes I emotionally eat....

Hello, I also am an emotional eater. This was very hard to say, but once I did there was a weight lifted of my shoulder. Then I decided to have weight loss surgery. I know the surgery will not stop the emotional eating. It is a matter of talking myself through the emotion now.

i don't think anyone reads these blogs anymore...

Hello, I have been over weight from about the age of 10 and just continued to gain. I have decided to have surgery also. I am having the sleeve. Your weight issues are yours. We all want the approval of our family and friends, but ultimate choice to be healthy is yours. I am reading a great book about weight loss surgery. One of the topics is support. Make a pro and cons list about being over weight and one about weight loss surgery, then make copies and give it to your family. Maybe they will be there for you. You should be proud of yourself for taking this step to live a healthy life.

    Sleeve Surgery/Sleep Apnea Nightmare/Help!

I also have sleep apnea and a CPAP machine which I just hate. It is on my night stand and some nights it gets used all night, but most nights it is collecting dust. It is not something you can just get over or adjust to it takes time. What I do every night is I put the machine and mask on while I watch the 11 o'clock news. Some nights I fall a sleep with it on and some nights I don't. I realize everything I have read as far as Gastric Sleeve is that we will need our CPAP machine during surgery. I have had several major stomach surgeries in the past and at a higher weight than I am now. I always brought the machine and mask to the hospital and not once has the anesthesiologist made me use my CPAP. Wait till your surgeon get back to you. It should be up to your Dr and the anesthesiologist. Try not to get worked up about this until you hear back and then worry if it is warranted. Best of luck
