Sometimes I have to repeat a mantra to myself to keep going and stay focused.

Great job! I am 7lbs shy of the 100 lb club I want to bust that number!! I also have the tummy ache and only take those pills when I need them not everyday. If I eat kinda blan on the plan I am good. If I venture out to much tummy ache.

Hang in there I do hope you improve soon. I had very few if any complications. I feel very fortunate. However. It is a serious surgery and once you stabilize you will be glad you did it.

Great job, I am down 49 lbs from 11 March surgery date. Trying to workout hard so I can speed up as I see quite a slow down lately.
-
That is great!! Congrats. I had my surgery on the 11th of March, down 49lbs. Been stalling a bit lately. Joined the gym and trying to fit in some upscaled workouts to prevent a stall. Still doing the shakes and 1/2 to 3/4 of food and two healthy snacks. Good luck!!

6 months out, is this it?

I like the analogy of stalling is not gaining. Guess we all will reach that mark one day. -
I am actually feeling hungry lately. Before I have just kept myself on a schedule. 3 small mini meals. 2 snacks and extra protein. Met with my dietician and she have me the go ahead anything is on the table to try. Of course stay away from carbs and soda. Do any of experience hunger the further along after post op? I haven't had this issue yet and sometimes I crave something sweet. What then heck is going on?

I can't believe how different post op hunger is. I too ate to relieve acid or pain thinking it was hunger. It was morning and no breakfast yesterday due to work and family move. So by noon I so think it was hunger. The sweet craving was probably stress related as I am trying to cram too much into my work-home life balance lately. My husband keeps reminding me it is time for me after all these years. I am a big giver, guess I need to scale back. Given post op and begining to feel better I am taking on more than I need too. Thanks for all your tips and suggestions to reanalyze.

My first "out to eat" experience - Two weeks post op

Wow I can't imagine but you should be so proud of yourself. What strength and determination. My family is trying their best to support me and I am not sure what I would do without them. My husband gave up certain foods and stayed with me and lost12lbs. He doesn't have weight issues of course. I am down 43. Keep up the good work! -
Everybody has their own journey. Mine was over a year and half of contemplation. One last ditch diet effort that cost me $3500, ideal protein. It helped but again I gained it all back. So my operation was a success thanks to a top notch doctor and hospital. All the right meds. I won't deny the small sips of protein and water the first week were not fun. Left use shoulder and stomach pain lingered for me as I have fibro. However, I have overcome that and now. I started walking and increasing my exercise each week. I am beginning to feel good both physically and mentally. My head still is yearning for those pretty cakes/cupcakes, ice cream and and cookies but the desire in my stomach isn't their to consume. I did eat some gelato and it tasted so good I wouldn't deny. Because it tastes so good I are more than I should when a little would do for me. Uncomfortable and sick had to lay down. So remember the big lesson you can taste, don't overeat. I have lost 42 lbs. amazing life change. Good luck to all of you!

I know everyone has their journey and each our own struggles. I am post op 24 days down 30lbs. At first yes shakes and food was awful, overtime it is approving, went from liquids to soft per doctors orders. My main problem was the left side pain under breast they shoulder. So they checked me for a blood clot and lots of other things. I'm clean just some residual gas and sleeve pain. At first I didn't have hardly any pain for the first 13 days. Meds were used for 3-4 days. Stay encouraged and hopeful. You will overcome. It gets better! I promise.

Most definitely Popsicles and Fudgecicles, low sugar or no sugar. I bought the individual cups or little bags of instant mashed potatoes, cream of wheat cereal and cream if chicken and mushroom soup. My husband strained it and mashed it real fine. You can have oatmeal and grits. Grits I think made my tummy hurt, too grainy. I bought some isopure fruit punch too. Of course you must use your protein shakes. Nectar the first week is best, much lighter. Everything is hard to get down at first. Good luck!!

Day 13 post op and increasing pain
SugarTea replied to BJay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know that potato soup usually has celery. No celery post op, leeks may be similar. I had two very similar attacks back to back, evening time post op 13 days, brought me to tears., couldn't breathe. Serious. Thought it could be heart, tore my staples, who knows. Very scary. My nurse said after being fussed at for not going to ER, probably food and severe gas pains. Mine went from under sternum left breast to shoulder. Increase water, take Miralax with warm tea, walk, walk, walk, my instructions have no celery, corn or Aspargus. It subsided but now I am much more attentive to everything I put in my mouth.
