Pain in the calf can be an indication of a blood clot so PLEASE head to your nearest ER and call your doctor. It's worth checking out to be on the safe side. Please don't massage your calf in the meantime.

Post op? When did your energy increase?
QueenA replied to cushy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aargh I am in the same boat. It's so weird but the 1st week post op I was moving around a lot but since last Wednesday, my energy level went drastically down. I just managed a 30 min walk today and plan on continuing on the treadmill daily. I think we have to remember that we did undergo major surgery so out bodies are gradually catching up. Based on the advice from my doctor, it's normal and will get better. Let's hang in there my fellow sleevers! -
Thanks for lifting me up by sharing your story! What a transformation!! You look absolutely HOT!!

Help, undesirable preop labs
QueenA replied to snowkitten's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was diagnosed with H pylori and prescribed an antibiotic treatment but it was too close to surgery to start it. It wasn't a show stopper for surgery. I'll start it in a few weeks. As for clotting issues, I've had 2 PEs and a DVT in the past so I was put on a bridge therapy prior to surgery. I was taken off my Coumadin 5 days before and switched to lovenox daily. I am still on it for 4 weeks post op so 2 more weeks to go. Just talk things over with your surgeon. They'll know what to do :-) -
Thanks for the motivation! I have to admit this week (2nd post surgery) has been challenging so it's great to be inspired by people like you :-)

I was sleeved on 5/6 and also got a hernia repair. I have been doing great on my weight loss considering am down 30.1lbs as of today. My only issue is heartburn. Boy has it been getting to me the last few days. My doctor recommended I doublet dose of the antacid med I was given bit I just hate that feeling. Does it get any better? Has anyone that's experienced the same share some insight? Thanks
-
It's most likely due to the fluids you received at the hospital. I personally didn't bother to weigh myself till a week post op cause my body was swollen. Stay away from the scale for a few more days, you'll be pleasantly surprised by your results thereafter :-)

2+ weeks out and heartburn is a beast!
QueenA replied to QueenA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@TheCurvyJones it's interesting as I was taking Prilosec every day before surgery. Seems like I may have to continue if things don't subside. I'll definitely be checking in with my surgeon for the long term. Thanks! -
2+ weeks out and heartburn is a beast!

Thanks a lot for the feedback @@StephanieRR really appreciate it. I start on soft foods next week so will definitely look out for the triggers as you mentioned. I am just praying it dies down so I'll follow your advice. -
I just posted on this today and got feedback to eat really really slowly and watch out for triggers. I agree you should call your surgeon as well which is what I did last night and he increased my dosage.
-
@@BijouxBelles my only advice is to eat light the day before. You don't want to feel super hungry the next day. I kind of ate most of my favorite foods the last week as well.

Was sleeved on 5/6. Doing ok. Wrapping up my 2nd week of liquids before moving to soft foods next week. Down 30lbs.

Awesome job! You look great????

Congrats! Encouraging :-)

TWO weeks out .... Chime in my May buds!
QueenA replied to Comeflywithme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 5/6 and down 22.4lbs as of today. I am struggling with getting all my liquids in but pushing myself cause I definitely don't want to go back due to dehydration. Overall I feel good although I agree with the taste in my mouth and also feelings of nausea certain mornings so I make sure I take my protonics early. 5 more days before I can start on puréed food! I also feel a drop in energy in the afternoon that a protein drink helps with a lot. Good luck everyone as we continue on. -
Today is my one year mark since my VSG! Pictures inside.

After being on the pre-op diet for 3 days, I am 8lbs down and now headed for my surgery. Wish me luck and good luck in advance to all those getting sleeved today too!

Complications. Pulmonary Embolism, anyone?
QueenA replied to MrDel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Be careful with sleeping with the compression socks. Please ask your doctors advice before doing that. I was given two separate lovonox shots within the first 24 hours after surgery. Thanks for the info Mr. Del! I hope you are feeling much better.
