One month banded and my port flipped
pplp replied to fatty2hottie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did ask the question about how common is it and was told they have never seen it happen to the same patient twice. I asked the Dr what he found the first time during the repair and he said the stitches were in tact (still circular) but had pulled away from the body. I just don't understand. He is going to try moving it to the side (it is currently center) and see if that helps. If this does not work I am considering having the band removed. The office called yesterday and confirmed they received the insurance paperwork they needed to proceed so now I am waiting for hospital scheduling. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road! -
One month banded and my port flipped

So....I posted on here that my port flipped after the first fill and I had it repaired, On March 28th I went in for my second fill (first one after the repair) and by that evening it flipped again! I am still waiting on insurance to process before I can get it repaired again. Just wondering if anyone has had theirs flip more than once? I am starting to get discouraged! This will be the third surgery in four months. Thanks in advance. -
I can eat peanut butter with no problem but prefer P28 Peanut spread, if you can get past the gritty texture it tastes like peanut butter but has 14g protein in 2 tbs

I had my band placed and after the first fill it flipped as well. They went back in and with a simple outpatient procedure fixed it, I just had my second fill and so far so good. I did not experience the painful procedure in the office like you did though because I knew mine had flipped, if I bent over it would stand on the edge and poke up. I am so sorry this happened the way it did for you, hopefully once it is repaired things will go smoothly for you! Take care.
