I need advice....please
Debi Amador replied to MaMa DeB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know it sounds gross but a warm Water enema will do it and do you no harm. Try to drink more water, it helps to keep your stool softer and moving better. -
3 week stall? is this a real thing?
Debi Amador replied to Meesh222's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The best way I have heard to over come any stall is to exercise more. Good Luck and keep it up. -
SEX 3 WEEKS POST.OP.....ANY RESTRICTIONS
Debi Amador replied to melindawantstolive's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said 3 weeks and take it slow. If you are in pain stop, just listen to your body. -
I am just starting out but I keep hearing people tell me, "Don't lose to much." but I have noticed that comes from my friends that are over weight by 20-30 lbs... so I am taking it with a grain of salt. I know they don't mean to be catty but I am sure they would feel lazy if my Fat Butt got smaller than them. But nothing will stand in my way, I am going to keep working out and eating healthy, I am not going to let my weight, either high or low, stop me from being the healthiest me I can be.

The scale finally moved!
Debi Amador replied to Jen:)'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had been in a stall for the last 2 weeks, but now I am going to bust threw it, I am hitting the gym and exercising harder. Congrats on your success and thanks for inspiring me to keep going! -
one week post op pain
Debi Amador replied to jennynoblemiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"No pain no gain" LOL, but seriously if the pain is bad call your surgeon. Is the pain in the area of the stomach? This early you really need to watch it to make sure there is not leaking of the stomach. You know your body best and you know if it is too bad for you. Listen to your body and talk to your surgeon whenever you want (or at least the surgeons office.) -
Abnormal Periods
Debi Amador replied to Lakish Rivera's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had two periods since my surgery and they didn't start on time but they only lasted 4-5 days, which is a little longer than normal. But anytime they last that long is a problem....Good Luck but contact you doctor ASAP! -
VETS - packing list help?
Debi Amador replied to pinkbarbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I only really used underwear, my robe, slippers, hair brush and tooth brush while I was there. But the pillow for your stomach is a good idea. Good Luck. -
Week 3 Post-Op No weight loss...
Debi Amador replied to She's_Sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost a lot of weight the first three weeks but since then I have been holding steady, it just goes like that. You will lose a lot of weight and then your body will stabilize and you won't lose any... just keep doing it, you will start losing again, try kicking up the exercise to walk 30 minutes a day, it might make a difference and what would it really hurt? Good Luck! -
Getting so close to ONEDERLAND I could....
Debi Amador replied to SoonergirlLayla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have said when I get down to my goal I am getting a tattoo to celebrate! -
My doctor had me on liquids only for two weeks. Protein shakes, Jello, Soup broth and things like that. For weeks 3 and 4 I was on puree foods and then I moved on to soft foods. Now that I am 6 weeks out I ate a little fish taco for lunch and some chicken and cottage cheese for dinner. You will feel quickly if you aren't ready for foods. Nearly forgot, no drinking for 30 minutes before eating, no drinking while eating and no drinking for 30 minutes after eating. And try to get 6 cups of Water down between meals. Remember juice has calories and you should stay away from them as much as possible after your 2 weeks. Good Luck!

Easter Dinner.. I watched
Debi Amador replied to amumes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess I am a little luckier, I am about 6 weeks post-op but I don't eat much, I had a hamburger patty that I took 3 bites of and a deviled egg that I took the yoke stuff out of, so I was able to eat a little. My family all knows what is going on but I did find myself watching how much food everybody else puts on their plates. My family has lots of toddlers and I noticed the HUGE servings of potato and macaroni salad they feed them. My kids are much more aware (going through this with me) and my kids ate mostly fruits but I was also shocked that in our 5 hours there that people were going back and having a second meal, and I am sure last year I was right there with them. I am finding it hard not to judge others for eating so much, I know it is none of my business if they gain weight but it is hard not to think about it. -
HELP! HELP! Not doing well with weight loss..
Debi Amador replied to JewelJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would just start with making sure the cottage cheese and stuff is fat free, may be drink more water to keep the hunger away. Good Luck and keep moving, as long as the trend is moving down it is good. -
I have been at the same weight all week now and this is the first stall I have had. I am hoping it is just being home with the kids this week (spring break). I think I have also had to much juice. I keep feeling like I am getting Water sick so I would try a cup of juice to stop that waterlogged feeling. Does anybody have any ideas to restart the weight lose and to stop feeling like the water is making me sick? Gotta keep moving forward, any help will be appreciated!

I started my period the day after my surgery. From my normal 28 day cycle I should have started yesterday but I haven't, should I worry? I know I am not pregnant. But I like to know when I am going to start so I don't worry about what I am wearing and where I am going.

My feelings so far............ surgery date 3/7/14
Debi Amador replied to ByeByefatgirl.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 3/11 and I feel the same way, all those feelings, LOL! Trying to sit down and eat with my family is what I miss the most and I think it is hard to train all my relatives that when we get together it doesn't have to be food related. But all in all I am glad I've done this and I am loving stepping on the scale every morning (something I haven't loved ever.) -
Why don't I learn?!
Debi Amador replied to TriAllie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the eat slow app while I eat, and I take very small bites, almost funny. But it does stop me from throwing it back up. -
Losing pounds but not sizes
Debi Amador replied to Jaguilar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only about a month out but I have found that I am still in the same size and nearly 40 pounds down. But I have noticed the part of my stomach that hung down is smaller, and I have been told that once I do start dropping sizes it will happen fast... just hang in there! -
I know before the surgery I would use ice packs instead of heat packs (everybody thought I was weird) but it really did work.

If you are going to cheat hummus is the best way to do it, at least you didn't try McDonalds! Keep going, you are doing great!
-
I am down 38 pounds and I am off to the gym right now, feeling good and shrinking away! Happy Dance!

I take a Women's Multi-, and then a Calcium. They are both gummies. Most stores have them.

Vomitting after eating
Debi Amador replied to honeyg317's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@honeyg317 I had the same problem at the beginning and I think it was that I was eating too fast. I downloaded the Eat Slower app and it times a minute and a half between bites and I am doing much better. -
my boyfriend doesn't approve of the surgery
Debi Amador replied to chad.vicious's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Chad, my husband wasn't very supportive at the beginning and it took me telling him that I have been dieting and exercising for years and it isn't working. I also told him that I am afraid I am going to die without it. He kind of gave in and became supportive (some what). But my husband and I have been together for over 14 years, 10 years married with 2 kids. I really hope I would say if somebody after 13 months is going to be that negative about me trying to help my health I would walk away. There is always other men and if they aren't willing to do everything to make you better then you have to ask what their problem is... I am sure you already know that surgery alone is not a cure, just another tool. Good Luck! -
Exercise "March sleevers" who is up & moving?
Debi Amador replied to 521Diva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am up and walking. My surgery was on March 11th and I have been walking a mile a day on the treadmill and started swimming last week. I also went to Disneyland today with my kids for about 4 hours and we walked my booty off but it was way to much, I ended up coming home and needing a nap. But at least I am up and walking. Keep moving forward, Good Luck!
